If you don't watch much tv - what DO you watch?

I hardly ever watch tv.

I watch The Apprentice (all of). Secret Millionaire (sometimes). Location Location (sometimes). The Wright Stuff (sometimes). Occasionally the News on Beeb 1 at 10pm. Family Guy (quite often).

The last series I watched all the way through was the Gene Hunt one before Ashes to Ashes - name escapes me atm.

Am I missing something?

I don't do soaps or skating on ice or searching for Dorothy type programmes.

foxinsocks · 10/04/2010 20:20

nah, I didn't realise, doh! But thanks for your comment on the sticks and stones thread! Appreciated !

bibbitybobbityhat · 10/04/2010 20:23

No, a reporter/presenter, but he stopped working there long time ago.

notnowbernard · 10/04/2010 20:24

Does he work for another channel now, Bibbity?

NonnoMum · 10/04/2010 20:25

WE watch "Dancing with the Stars" (US version of Strictly). But I think we are the only people in the UK to do so.
But it is SOOO much better than the UK version. (Dontcha love how competitive the Yanks are??)

cocolepew · 10/04/2010 20:25

Americas Next Top model God it's great. I found Austrailias NTM today, I was made up.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 10/04/2010 20:25

I don't get to see much telly.
I DO watch Eastenders. (She says - only saw Fridays though this week )

Have been watching One Born Every Minute - does anyone know - has that series finished now? Sorry for hi-jack.

I bet my dh would know who he is..his brother works in those circles too

cocolepew · 10/04/2010 20:30

Oh yes Waterloo Road QI HIGNFY Law and Order UK I love US programmes but not CSI type, everyone whispers in them. I'm still mourning The Sopranos.

Nymphadora · 10/04/2010 20:30

Ashes to ashes, Doctor Who, erm....

bibbitybobbityhat · 10/04/2010 20:32

I have never even heard of Waterloo Road. What is it?

OP posts:
BertieBotts · 10/04/2010 20:32

I don't tend to watch stuff as it's on - I will watch things on iplayer, mainly documentaries.

If I put the telly on without planning to watch anything then it tends to be something like

Friends
Come Dine With Me
How Clean is Your House
Relocation Relocation
To Buy or Not To Buy
Never Mind the Buzzcocks
Top Gear
Mock The Week
QI
HIGNFY
Casualty
Random "100 greatest XYZ" things
Secret Millionaire

Things I will actually try and remember to watch when they are on, but usually forget and end up watching on iPlayer/4od:

Outnumbered
Waterloo Road
One Born Every Minute
How the Other Half Live
Russell Howard's Good News

RunningOutOfNames · 10/04/2010 20:36

I tend to watch on iplayer/4OD as I'm not allowed to touch the remote control (that's man's work):

Desperate Housewives
The Good Wife
Outnumbered
Ashes to Ashes
Lark Rise
Waterloo Rd (I pretend it's on for the DDs)

Our TV is 22 years old and we don't have an aerial. I'm hoping it will break down soon because we can't afford to replace it and I'll be sooooooooo delighted - I find it life-sapping (unless it's something I want to watch)

bibbitybobbityhat · 10/04/2010 20:37

OMG am starting to be freaked that I have never heard of Waterloo Road. I am living in parallel universe!

And I also like going through back series of things - will get the DVD or watch on youtube if I am feeling so inclined. Am on series 3 of Waterloo Road at the moment (as well as new one - confusing!) I think series 2 was the best, and I cried when Jack left

Have also watched through the entire box set of The OC - enjoyed that. Thinking of getting Life on Mars next. Tried watching the new series but wasn't that into it, I think I need to know the characters from older series.

Might give Doctor Who another go too.

BertieBotts · 10/04/2010 20:40

Waterloo Road is a drama series about an inner city secondary school, bibbity.

The headmaster in series 1/2/first 6 eps of 3 was played by jason merrells It's not as good since he left but some of the other characters are fab.

Lindy · 10/04/2010 20:43

Sometimes I'll watch 'Have I got news for you' but that's it .......... for news I read a newspaper - I think most TV is absolute rubbish. I am cannot believe the drivel that is on TV; I am a real anti-TV snob and if I lived on my own I would happily not have one.

bibbitybobbityhat · 10/04/2010 20:47

Thanks Bertie. Am amazed its on to series 3 already. I can honestly say, hand on heart, it has never crossed my radar .

OP posts:
BertieBotts · 10/04/2010 20:49

It's on series 5, sorry, just meant I was about halfway through series 3 in DVD boxset First episode still on iplayer - the new series are split into terms, so it says Series 5 episode 11 but it's really the first episode. If you are interested at all!
