SparklyGothKat · 30/03/2010 21:49

I have never been offered an epidural, admittely when I asked for one I was 9cms pmsl!

alle01 · 30/03/2010 21:49

showofhands, hit him again just to remind him of that teeeeeerrible pain

CrankyTwanky · 30/03/2010 21:51

the pain of an epidural is nought compared to labour pains ime.

why don't they tell her she doesnt need synto!?

ruddynorah · 30/03/2010 21:52

god they actually held her arms down for that.

Megglevache · 30/03/2010 21:53

did she actually have it though?

ReshapeWhileDamp · 30/03/2010 21:53

I thought she'd been induced and therefore did need synto?

Poor girl though. I thought they'd stick it in while she was still delivering, and she wouldn't have noticed.

Missus84 · 30/03/2010 21:53

What was the injection after the birth for? She really didn't want it

candyfluff · 30/03/2010 21:53

oh no down to theatre

MudandRoses · 30/03/2010 21:54

OMG they're going to try and turn the baby! ow!!!

Alambil · 30/03/2010 21:54

they should've totally done it in secret - prepped it outside, brought it in without her seeing and done it as she was given the baby (ie distracted)

EEEEk at forceps...

nowwhatdoido · 30/03/2010 21:54

I think, though I could be wrong, that the anaesthetists are more at hand because it's a maternity hospital, on it's own, rather than a unit in a general hospital.

Whatever, I had my first here, and my experience was very similar, very medicalised. The suggested I had an epidural too, and it hadn't even crosesed my mind.

Hated that place, went on to have two homebirths.

SparklyGothKat · 30/03/2010 21:55

omg big baby!!

princessmel · 30/03/2010 21:55

owwwwwww!!!!!!

I had this with ds1

spilttheteaagain · 30/03/2010 21:55

she was HUGE!

ReshapeWhileDamp · 30/03/2010 21:55

missus I'm a bit at it too. Not a nice thing to hear, someone being medicated against their direct wishes!

I may have this wrong, but I thought if you'd been induced with IV drugs, you couldn't have a natural third stage and had to have synto. Was told this when I had DS and I think I looked it up afterwards.

candyfluff · 30/03/2010 21:55

wow massive baby

hellymelly · 30/03/2010 21:55

oh that was making me squirm!

pigleychez · 30/03/2010 21:55

cyteen · 30/03/2010 21:55

Haven't followed the thread this week but just wanted to record, yet again, my ridiculous tears whenever the new babies cry

ReshapeWhileDamp · 30/03/2010 21:56

DragonMamiCooksWelshCakes · 30/03/2010 21:56
