I'll start with Kate Humble.

Well it's my own fault for switching on "LambWatch" of course but I turned it off again after 7 mins (honest).

She is so humungously patronising, never stops talking and everything is always about her and not the actual programme.

On a more positive note, I really love Monty Don.

And yes, before you ask, I am very bored today

Agree with OP on Kate Humble. She's just far too enthusiastic, annoyingly so. That poor farmer was harrassed by her constantly asking him if one of the flock of sheep was in labour.

"Do you think that one's in labour? Ooh what about that one, it's looking a bit restless isn't it? Are any of these sheep displaying signs of being in labour? That one over there is baaing, what are the signs of labour again? Which of these sheep do you think will give birth first? Are any of them in labour yet?"

I'd have clonked her.

And I just wish she would STOP GRINNING!

MrsJohnDeere · 12/03/2010 12:50

Alys Fowler on Gardeners World. Something about her makes me very irate.

Runners up:
Kate Garraway (but I don't watch GMTV so she doesn't actually annoy me in practice).
All those identikit talentless blondes - Fearne Cotton, Holly Wotsername, Cat Dealey.
Kate Humble.

Jumblygirl · 12/03/2010 13:50

Oh yes MrsJohnDeere, have given up watching Gardeners World for that very reason - something terribly self-satisfied about her(and the fact that it is now aimed at a level my 14 year old nephew would find insulting)

lol Rhubarb - did you see Kate break down entirely when one of the lambs didn't survive? It was toe-curlingly embarrassing "thank you for all your support everyone sniff, sniff, I'm sorry, sniff, have to get tougher, sniff"

Wanted to throw something at the screen and shout IT'S NOT ALL ABOUT YOU

I need to get out more

Jumblygirl · 12/03/2010 13:57

lol

I've just read through this again and spotted

YanknCock's Matthew Amroliwali (surely the most self-satisfied man on television)

and JooseyFruit's Lorne Spicer (agree, one of the worst voices ever)

Being vile about people is making me inexplicably cheery this afternoon

OP posts:
CaptainPicardsPineapple · 12/03/2010 14:01

Totally agree re Lorne Spicer and Richard Madeley.

I'd like to add those two cunts of To Buy or Not To Buy to the list.

Poshpaws · 12/03/2010 14:02

PMSL at Zoolander Matthew.

Anyone who presents GMTV, especially Lorraine Kelly and Andrew Castle.

Love Bill Turnball, but do agree about Susannah Reid - she seems away with the fairies a lot of the time

My favourite is Charlie Stayt, though. He seems nice, but a little dim.

Poshpaws · 12/03/2010 14:03

Oh, and not forgetting Robert Peston

UnquietDad · 12/03/2010 14:05

I've been interviewed by Kate Silverton and she was a total cow. Didn't seem to give a damn about who I was or why I was there - more interested in the sound of her own voice.

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 12/03/2010 14:06

Really sorry but;

Bruce Forsyth

He only mildly irritates me, but he MASSIVELY irritates dh who witters on about him when ever he is on - between the 2 of them and Tess Daly they nearly ruin Strictly for me , Dh also does the same when Terry Wogan is on.

Dumbledoresgirl · 12/03/2010 14:09

Can't recall her name, but the woman who co-hosts Strictly Comes Dancing. She is such a waste of space.

Dumbledoresgirl · 12/03/2010 14:09

Ah x posted with seashells - Tess Daly, that's the one.

Jumblygirl · 12/03/2010 14:10

Oh yes, Kate Silverton utterly ghastly (I know someone who knows her too and she said exactly the same thing about her UnquietDad)

OP posts:
Dumbledoresgirl · 12/03/2010 14:10

Oh and how could I have forgotten Terry Wogan? I must be the only person in Britain who was pleased he left the morning show on radio 2.

Jumblygirl · 12/03/2010 14:12

Quite fond of Tess's accent and array of dresses - to be fair she's improved a lot since Strictly started

OP posts:
donnie · 12/03/2010 14:18

what about the ghastly Vanessa Feltz? is she still on television? she really is hideous in every respect, as is her vile and arrogant daughter who does a bit of tv. What the general public did to deserve that peroxide harridan is beyond me.

UnquietDad · 12/03/2010 14:21

I remember Anthea Turner being interviewed and trying to defend herself against accusations of cliqueiness and nepotism - she employs people she knows on her shows because "it makes sense to have people around you that you trust", or something. She honestly seemed to think that this is the way it works in the real world.

donnie · 12/03/2010 14:23

Anthea Turner was in some kind of play or stage production recently - I read it was cancelled as only two people bought tickets! If someone could get a link up for that story it would make my day!

were you one of those two UQD?

UnquietDad · 12/03/2010 14:36

Thankfully I was not!

tallulahbelly · 12/03/2010 14:56

I was going to nominate Denise Van Outen but I don't believe she's currently employed as a TV presenter on account of being discriminated against for being a vile human being to have to work with with child.

tablefor3 · 12/03/2010 15:03

I have it on good authority that Matthew Amarawalla (sp?) is very nice and commonly gets cups of tea for everyone in the newsroom including production staff. Most unusual apparently.

Butkin · 12/03/2010 15:19

Good call on Anthea Turner and Linda Barker -awful. We had the misfortune of having to watch La Anthea in Panto this Christmas.

Jumping to Kate Humble's defence she has a really tough task. Live TV, with animals, with animals that may have babies at any moment, with animals that most people aren't interested in and with a desperate producer shouting in her ear to smile and chat after realising the programme isn't as popular as Springwatch.

MrsJohnDeere · 12/03/2010 15:22

Dh sat next to Kate Silverton on a train and was quite smitten. He reckoned she was really nice and 'normal' in RL (and wearing normal clothes rather than some of the peculiar things she wears on tv).

ilovesprouts · 12/03/2010 15:25

jonathan ross

claraquack · 12/03/2010 15:30

I know this is meant to be about who we don't like rather than do but in the spirit of the sisterhood I really like Mishal Husain. She was presenting the breakfast news while she was pregnant with her twins while my dd1 was a baby so I saw a lot of her. She's on BBC World these days.

Jumblygirl · 12/03/2010 16:01

Yes, I like Mishal Husain ... and speaking of pregnant newsreaders I REALLY like Sophie Raworth

Oh well I take it back about Matthew Amariwalla (sp?) then ... anyone who makes cups of tea for the team can't be that bad

And I agree Butkin, I'm certain live tv of that sort is so much harder to do in real life than it looks.

Starting to feel guilty again now!!
