If I was shown that chart - I would have brokedown in tears, and she just said 'yeah, I am sad, actually' - shocking

KickKnack · 11/01/2010 21:48

Knicknack..I've been using KnickKnack or KickKnack for over a year!!!

Welcome to mumsnet KMD

ChickensLoveMarmite · 11/01/2010 21:49

I am amazed actually. These parents genuinely don't seem to see their children as they are.

knicknack · 11/01/2010 21:50

My dad did this to my younger brother, filled him with junk and he now at 16 wieghs 20 stone. He is now living with me and is determined to loose it but it will take him a good 2 years or so years i guess

knicknack · 11/01/2010 21:52

@ that lunch!

notnowbernard · 11/01/2010 21:55

It's the old classic thing of parents not being able to tolerate any level of distress or discomfort (physical or emotional)

FiveGoMadInDorset · 11/01/2010 21:55

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

notnowbernard · 11/01/2010 21:56

IT IS VERY EASY

DON'T BUY SHIT FOOD

knicknack · 11/01/2010 21:56

back to the old takeaway eh? and i thought takeaway day was wednesday

FiveGoMadInDorset · 11/01/2010 21:57

The only one who seems to have taken on board any changes is Lucas' mum

notnowbernard · 11/01/2010 21:57

Lucas's Mum has Got It, I think

KickKnack · 11/01/2010 21:57

you sold your red sofa for a knickknack???
shows how observant I am...hadn't even noticed your name until you pointed it out! Would have been very funny if I had stumbled across your posts while I saw drunk and confused!

Some of the parents look like they're taking it all on board, but others look like they'll still be in the same position in a years time.

satc2bringiton · 11/01/2010 21:57

Lucas's mum seems the most clued up. Exercise is really important - great to see Lucas on his bike.

notnowbernard · 11/01/2010 21:58

Re my earlier post - parents not tolerating their DC distress

zisforzebra · 11/01/2010 21:58

Yeay for Lucas's mum!

and Yay for Libby's mum for not being played and manipulated anymore!

KickKnack · 11/01/2010 21:59

Go Libby!!

Great programme for sitting there and going 'judge judge judge' for sixty minutes.

The programme makers know what they are doing...

Alambil · 11/01/2010 22:03

Lucas and Libby are on the right tracks it seems... I just feel for Bethany so, so much with a mum that wants her relationship with food to be emotional rather than for fuel

OP posts:
notnowbernard · 11/01/2010 22:03

Let's face it, SomeGuy, there WAS plenty to judge

Dangerously overweight children whose parents were doing chuff all to change anything?

I'm happy to sit on my arse and judge away

KickKnack · 11/01/2010 22:04

very true SG, but worth it if it makes a difference to the life of one of these kids (or to someone watching)
cliché, I know!

SomeGuy · 11/01/2010 22:06

oh yes there was, just saying it was very easy viewing: 'ooh look at these fat parents with their fat kids', and then there were the kids eating their dinner on the sofa rather than at a dinner table, and dinosaurs as a food, it was like 'smug middle class bingo', you could just tick it off.
