&...&....&...I am supposed to be driving to Gatwick then.....

At least if BA cancels the flight I can watch Dr Who in peace

Katymac · 16/12/2009 14:12

Is it repeated at all?

UnquietDad · 16/12/2009 14:14

Yes, there is a BBC1 repeat on New Year's Day before the second part.

I'm sure it will be repeated endlessly on BBC3.

OhYouMerryMerryKitten · 16/12/2009 14:19

Tis one of the best bits about Christmas (apart from the whole hooray, I'm happy that we are celebrating the birth of our Lord thing, oh and the presents and the dinner)

RustyBear · 16/12/2009 14:24

Having planned my Christmas months ago round Dr Who & Hamlet (3 hours or so on Boxing Day) I have now been forced persuaded to have MIL for Christmas & am pondering my chances of getting her to stop wittering so I can actually watch it....

OhYouMerryMerryKitten · 16/12/2009 14:27

RB, can you record it? or send her down the pub?

UnquietDad · 16/12/2009 15:13

Rusty - you tell her "Shut up, Doctor Who is on!" Honestly - priorities!

jeep · 16/12/2009 15:34

my mil will talk all the way through it too think i'll join her. new dr who is dire. (compared to the old classics)

UnquietDad · 16/12/2009 16:13

The only rule of Doctor Who Club is You Do Not Talk During Doctor Who Club.

My mother knows better know than even to tut if we watch it at her house. (She is a tutter. Lots of things make her tut, from women in short skirts to Lizo Mzimba.) She will absent herself, to the other side of the room or to another room.

Visiting children are made aware of The Rule too.

persephonesnape · 16/12/2009 19:01

my children are going to their dads early afternoon (which is a pity, because one of the things i like best about doctor who is that we watch it as a family and it's something from my childhood that is a constant...and i loved it so as a little girl, and now my children love it too...)which means i can watch david tennant doctor who in peace...but I have a friend coming over and am tempted to say i need to run kids to fife and won't be back until eight (convieniently catching confidential as well...)

so excited! seen this?

KaySqueeHarker · 16/12/2009 21:41

Of course. Squee is my middle name.

Katymac · 16/12/2009 22:47

So.....if the AA says it will take 3.5 hrs to drive to Gatwick - how long will it take at 7pm on Christmas Day?

Or is it a longer episode?

GloriaInEccentrica · 16/12/2009 22:51

UQD are you married to me?

ArizonaBarker · 16/12/2009 22:58

6pm?

Darn, that's when my parent's gay best friend's turn up. Loudly.

I shall have to hide in the spare room with a bottle glass of Baileys.

UnquietDad · 17/12/2009 09:55

Surely gay BF(s) will love DW. Or is that unfairly stereotyping him/her/them?

ArizonaBarker · 17/12/2009 09:57

You'd think so, wouldn't you?

They are such a disapointment to me.
They will all be too busy playing charades or sommat.

Prolly like Torchwood though.

UnquietDad · 17/12/2009 10:00

shakes fist "Barrrrrow-man!"

gizmo · 17/12/2009 10:03

Nothing useful to add - just marking my place in the thread really. Think of it as a pre-christmas tradition.

persephonesnape · 17/12/2009 11:57

haahah to UQD and buzzcocks last night. isn't everyone lovely good old wilf cribbens. Loved interaction between tennant and tate.

shall start feeling sad in a minute. sniff! am sure the very best is yet to come!

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 17/12/2009 12:44

I missed the last special - are they showing it prior to the Christmas Day one? If not, how can I see it??

KaySqueeHarker · 17/12/2009 13:21

Buzzcocks reminded me of when they stood in for Jonathan Ross, very funny stuff. They clearly get on like a house on fire.

I'm not sure if Waters of Mars (the last special) is still on iplayer, possibly.

The more I know about The End of Time, the more I'm convinced it's going to ruin my Christmas and New Year in the best way, i.e. making me cry like a loon about a telly programme.

Elffriend · 17/12/2009 13:45

I'm squeeing and dreading it at the same time. Perhaps if I never watch it then it won't happen and DT will remain the Doctor forever

I will watch when DS and cousin in bed. Adults will be banned from speaking or suffer the consequences.

Will have to Sky + Hamlet for when I can get some peace - I have no hope of the In Laws behaving for that long and I want to savour!

It has to be a rare combination: childish over-excitement and dinstinctly non-childish lust.

AboardtheAxiom · 17/12/2009 13:52

I am very excited to watch this

Elfriend you have just summed up how I feel about watching Doctor Who "childish over-excitement and dinstinctly non-childish lust". UQD we have those DOctor WHo Club Rules too, if anyone arrives whilst we are watching one they now know to button it until it finishes.

I read the article in my christmas radio times the other day and nearly cried I was so emotional.

Can anyone please explain to me this Ood prophecy about knocking?? It must be in the only episode I didn't watch.
