Oh. Yes, that girl in Dannii's gruop had a lovely voice - twas a shame her nerves got the better of her I thought.

midnightexpress · 14/12/2009 17:27

oops.

here

Stilla · 14/12/2009 17:28

this is the one from Dannii's group

midnightexpress · 14/12/2009 17:29

Yes, I liked her.

ijustwanttoaskaquestion · 14/12/2009 18:45

you know what AFM, im sorry too!!! silly of me and certainly no offence taken. I absolutely take on board what you mean. I read that his mum is a single mum, however, i think that financially they were "ok", well as ok as the rest of us - i do like that he is from a "normal" working class background and not a drama school graduate. Its funny how when you see all those programs about people before they were "famous" and so many of them appear as participants in childrens' games shows. So i agree with you I had just had a stressfull day xmas shopping with my mother - having got told off in the shop because SHE broke a glass ornament, and disappeared faster than any normal 74 year old is capable!!

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 14/12/2009 18:50

I didn't watch the programme at all but I heard Joe singing the song on radio one this morning and it is a complete pile of dire drivel lacking in any sort of feeling or discernible talent.

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 14/12/2009 18:51

You need personality to be a star and he doesn't seem to possess any at all.

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 14/12/2009 18:52

(I did actually see part 1 of the final as a friend was round watching it at mine. The other two were far better. )

AngryFromManchester · 15/12/2009 08:09

I think he is a lovely boy and did not appear to be lacking in a personality at all.

lol@ your mum ijustwanttoaskaquestion

ErnestTheBavarian · 15/12/2009 08:58

I've also got to say that I think Joe comes across as being really lovely. He's only young and seems to be very gentle natured. Hope he doesn't get eaten alive & that he gets looked after.

Not being loud, gobby, brash or a total arsehole doesn't automatically mean no personality.

Ah, I wish I were (a lot) younger I'd take him under my wing

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 15/12/2009 09:47

Yes, he comes across as lovely and gentle natured but he's not star quality. No, you don't need to be brash and gobby to be a popstar but you do need, I don't know oomph for want of a better word. Presence maybe?

Still, it doesn't matter what I think

HinnyPet · 15/12/2009 10:22

Did you see him on the outtakes on the xtra factor? When he was mucking about with Lloyd, he really did have personality and a very infectious laugh!

ijustwanttoaskaquestion · 15/12/2009 11:32

oh, he'll be as arrogant and as gobby as the rest of em this time next year!!

Just wanted to say - im quite glad stacey didnt win, i think shes great, but shes a mummy and needs to spend time with her baby - now she can do that, AND still have her music career, just at a pace that would suit her family more. Think it would hav been too much if she won - waaay too manic

FanjolinaJolie · 15/12/2009 12:22

I like Joe. He is only 18 by the way. For the MNers who say he's not sexy you're probably old enough to be his mother so stop trying to perve on him. (I am deffo old enough to be his mother)

I think he could be the next Michael Ball type West End and recording career but probably not a pop star.

But then what would we know?? You need to ask the 13yo's.

ijustwanttoaskaquestion · 15/12/2009 14:47

yeah right, what would we know, we all want to mother him, although i do think he is gorgeous - thats only because he looks like a younger version of my DP, at least when he smiles.

Heard his song on the radio though and it sounded awful, why did they pick such a crap, no inspiration song for them? Its a cover version anyway - they could have picked something half decent FFS

UnquietDad · 15/12/2009 15:01

Hey, feel free to all perv over Joe. That way I don't need to feel bad for perving over Daizy Agnew, who really is young enough to be my daughter, and in a non-age-scandalous way to boot.

catinthehat2 · 15/12/2009 20:58

The Climb is a dreadful tune free dirge.

But I was amazed when he sang Dance with my father again the other night. What a pile of sentimental slop BUT I was completely won over, I was mesmerised. He can really sing the oddest least obvious songs and completely sell them.

UnquietDad · 15/12/2009 21:33

I liked his version of "Don't Stop Believing". It benefited from having the chorus sung a couple of times more, and earlier, than in the original song.

ParkBench · 16/12/2009 08:37

I think some folks have lost sight of what a normal 18 yr old is like. We watch skins, Hollyoaks etc. and read the news about Hoodies and are at an 18 yr old virgin who has had a couple of girlfriends, nothing serious, works well at school etc. Surely that is really the norm.

Oh, and FWIW i think the RATM Christmas Number 1 thingy is a bit mean spirited ...

juneybean · 16/12/2009 12:53

Interesting analogy madhair, I wonder what I am then? I wasn't born on the banks of the Tyne.

HinnyPet · 17/12/2009 14:47

Where were you born juney?

juneybean · 19/12/2009 18:48

Germany. lol

Dad was in the army ;)

juneybean · 19/12/2009 18:49

Sorry should explain that I've been -dragged- brought up in Washington since I was 1.

HinnyPet · 20/12/2009 01:26

ah... Washington ..... nice service station
