I forgot how much this makes me laugh

midnightexpress · 26/11/2009 21:37

fuckityfuckityfuckityfuckityfuck. Missed it.

At times like this, I am all for endless repeats.

Honneybunny · 26/11/2009 21:38

Owain hughes, and before you ask-
no I didn't

What's that about then?

MarioChristmas · 26/11/2009 21:48

I dont get that either.

I love Uncle Bryn, he makes me wee myself a little bit

Lizzylou · 26/11/2009 21:49

Have just been on Facebook to ask my Welsh friends that very question!
I lived in Wales for 4 years and am none the wiser......

halfcut · 26/11/2009 21:49

I love doris,..fuck the salad

Honneybunny · 26/11/2009 21:50

it's my time of the month.
hilarious

TequilaMockinBird · 26/11/2009 21:52

Marking my place on here as I'm intrigued by the Owain Hughes joke....somebody must know!

halfcut · 26/11/2009 21:53

Think maybe the Owain hughes joke will run and run ..a bit like uncle Bryns fishing trip

Honneybunny · 26/11/2009 21:55

found somewhere the explanation that it might be something to do with money:
owe-wayne-hughes

does not seem very funny like that.
and before you ask: yes i have been googling it for the last five minutes

pookamoo · 26/11/2009 21:57

"before you ask" ha ha ha!
(absolutely no idea, by the way!)

Honneybunny · 26/11/2009 21:58

also found this:

"And while we?re at it, will anyone explain the running joke about the name of new character Owain Hughes, which flummoxed all the English characters in the show, and the majority of us watching at home too, I?d guess.

I?ve had a quick check on the electoral roll. There are 38 people called Owain Hughes in Britain.

In the next 24 hours, every single one of them will be asked ?and do you??."

rubytwokids · 26/11/2009 21:58

RTKangaMummy, thanks for the link. Tidy! (And even funnier because his Nessa impersonation isn't all that good. What part of Wales is from then? Not the same bit as Nessa, evidently. )

MrsKitty · 26/11/2009 22:08

Loved the bit where Stacey asks Nessa where The Baby Neil is and she turns round and he's in a sling...and just as you think "ahh" she says "So's I can smoke more easy" .

Fantastic.

pookamoo · 26/11/2009 22:34

MrsKitty I LMAO at that!

AnyFucker · 26/11/2009 22:38

hasn't Stacey got the prettiest smile in the world ?

Lizzylou · 26/11/2009 22:42

Anyfucker, she has, she is so beautiful and lovely.
So has Smithy though to be honest, and Gawd I fancy George Lamb

nymphadora · 27/11/2009 07:42

I couldn't watch it properly cos the freeview kept jumping, going to have to download it oniplayer today

I hate digital tv it never works properly

bambipie · 27/11/2009 09:01

DH and I a bit dissapointed - first series was SO funny and this was more gently amusing. Rather lazy script - kind of relying on us already finding the characters funny and laughing what ever they do.
Love Doris though, and Nessa, and Gavin's Mum - in fact the women seem stronger than the men this series! Although DH is sad as he no longer fancies Stacey, she's a bit too annoying apparently.

mayorquimby · 27/11/2009 10:48

agreed first series was brilliant. got the balance of comedy and being a bit sweet just right. with some brilliant jokes and characters. unfortunateky like a lot of comedies it went slightly downhill in the secnd series but was still very enjoyable but has now imo descended into a catchphrase comedy where the characters are parodies of themselves and the jokes are derived from either shouting, repeated jokes about the characters or just trying to get characters to say something for shock value rather than advancing the storyline.

skihorse · 27/11/2009 10:56

OK, have spent some time in Wales (uni) - and the way I remember it is that one "huuuuuuuuughes" when they are talking to God down the big white telephone.

I predict TTC woes for Stacey.

skihorse · 27/11/2009 10:57

To put it in to context, "I went down the Student Union last night and I've spent all morning hughing."

RTKangaMummy · 27/11/2009 11:51

This is what Rob Brydon says on his twitter:

Once again. "Owain Hughes". I DON'T KNOW! : )

Loved it! Best bit was when Uncle Bryn took Gavins packed lunch to his new work place (grin) Hilarious!

Agree about TTC storyline skihorse.
