I thought the Tardis looked odd. What have they done to it...? Did it always have white window frames??

You can clearly see the braces in the Tardis picture.

I'm dreading to see what they've done to the inside.

TigerDrivesAgain · 20/07/2009 22:02

I think he's cute.

But not that ridiculous outfit. He looks like an escapee from one of those "Doctor in the House" films. Bring back Terry Thomas etc etc. (I know he's not a DR, but he was in the Doctor films).

changes to the inside bother me less because it's changed since the original version anyway. The outside is iconic though - Shouldn't' be messed with!

ladies... calm down... we need to give him a chance... take deep breaths all of you... ! although i still love you david and don't gooo!!!!!!!

yappybluedog · 20/07/2009 22:27

I think he's rather dashing in a weirdy sort of way, but then a think DT is very rodent like

she is very pretty

ButterbeerAndLemon · 21/07/2009 00:24

If there are braces then that could save it...

LovelyTinOfSpam · 21/07/2009 00:40

Well I read bits of this thread to DH..

SoupDragon · 21/07/2009 08:26

I'm perfectly willing to give him a chance - I wasn't pleased with DT as the choice at the start. However, the wardrobe dept have cocked this one up. I think he could have just about pulled it off without the rolled up trousers...

Agree that his assistant looks fab though.

The assistant does look nice.
The thing that bothers me more than the outfit is the lack of eyebrows. What is with that?

Will have to re-name the show Geography Teacher Who.

He is young, dress him accordingly. sigh
RIGM - if I hadn't already eaten my weetabix I'd sob into them too.

Flgihtattendant · 21/07/2009 08:47

Assistant, v pretty

Matt Smiff just looks pretentious, but then he has done from the start - I never liked him

JackieNo · 21/07/2009 13:03

Shame he didn't get that hair cut . Not sure about the outfit - I just spotted this on the BBC website, and had to come straight here to see what people thought. It's the 'well he's young, so we'll counteract that by dressing him as an old person' thing that annoys me. What's that about? That hair's still annoying me.

She ('Amy Pond') is really lovely, isn't she.

SoupDragon · 21/07/2009 14:27

He's not dressed as an old person, he's dressed as a twat. You'd never see an old person with trousers rolled up to just above their boots.

Well, I can't really say never. I once saw an old person walking through Croydon in lederhosen and hiking boots

It's not even as if I don't like tweed jackets. (In fact whenever I see a re-run of All Creatures Great and Small I find myself wishing that more men wore it nowadays ). I've no problem with the Doctor wearing tweed at all. But this outfit, well words fail me. It is horrible on so many levels.

Pixel · 21/07/2009 16:49

Siegfried is that right?

UnquietDad · 21/07/2009 16:55

southeastastra - he has a slightly different personality each time, so his dress sense will always be a bit different.

I mean, come on... could be worse...

He looks like the radical and quirky young professor who dresses like the other dons but is far more mischievous and unpredictable. In other words - very Doctorish!

I am surprised, though - I thought they'd go for something more like what he wore in his initial publicity photos, or even something akin to what he wears casually in the street...

UnquietDad · 21/07/2009 16:56

soupdragon - the TARDIS looks closer to the "original" than ever. It has white window frames and the St John's Ambulance badge in the 1960s, which haven't been in evidence recently.

And Amy Pond (or should we say "Amy Pond"... hmmmm) is very lovely.

JackieNo · 21/07/2009 16:58

UD - is it a possible watery theme with 'pond' that you're wondering about?

CowWatcher · 21/07/2009 16:59

Looks like they are dressing him like an old man to fool us into thinking he's older than he is. Just sorry it means def no more Party Animals.

UnquietDad · 21/07/2009 17:00

Definitely a watery agenda....

And Party Animals was already dead in the, er, water....

JackieNo · 21/07/2009 17:05

OK, UD - glad I was along the right lines with the watery theme.

I only saw the first few of Party Animals, and really enjoyed it, but it clashed with something else, I think, so I didn't see the whole series.
