Whedon/Angel fans - Andy Hallett (Lorne) is dead

He was only 33. He'd been struggling with heart disease for a while apparently.

He was just so young

Bugger.

Took me a while to remember who he was in the series as it's been ages since I watched Angel - this helped.

How very sad, his poor family.

poor bloke. he was about teh best thing in angel, i did like it when they went to pylea (sp?).

and terribly young, he must have been early 20s when they started angel - when was it serenity?

Lorne was my favourite character in Angel. He was so funny, and had an incredible voice.

Angel started in 1999, so he would have been 23/24? Can't remember exactly when Lorne first turned up as 'The Host', whether it was end of S1, or S2. (Just checked - was the first episode of S2)

He did have a fabulous voice.

I didn't realise he was that young either, I suppose you get used to teenagers (not that his character was one) being played by 35 year olds so assume everyone is older.

Also he was green, which made ageing him hard.

How sad. It was completely jumping the shark, but the whole segue into his world was simply hilarious. He was a very comic actor, very funny indeed.

OMG - loved the Lorne character and always thought Andy Hallet seemed such a nice guy. How sad that he became so ill at such a young age.

Absolutely gutted about this. Thats really sad news! Have just read that Allyson Hannigan has had a baby girl too. Don't think it was the same day though, but its got a circle of life kind of vibe to it all!

Rest in peace Andy. You were fabulous and one of a kind thats for sure . . . .

I'm going to watch my Angel boxsets now, to remember all the best Lorne moments.

My thoughts are with his family,particuarly his father who had to watch his child die.Something a parent should never have to do. I can't imagine the pain of it.

He died of heart failure. He'd been struggling with cardiomypathy for 5 years as a result of a tooth infection.

A friend met him at a convention, and said he was so warm and friendly,just like his character. That seems to be the opinion of anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him.

An amazing character that he played so well.

He was so young, same age as my DH - shows how fragile life is and after a tooth infection as well
