I've donated too. But come on-Gary Barlow has spent £50,000 flying home the celebs who climbed Kilimanjaro . Why couldn't they just finish it properly? Fly home charter like everyone else, donate the rest to the charity and then REALLY earned our respect. They could have bought mosquito nets and vaccinations for the whole of Africa for the cost of their flight home. They roughed it for a bit-their choice.

I agree midlands. I suspect lots of very average families have given things up things they will really miss.

thumbwitch · 14/03/2009 00:17

the Apprentice has finally reached its comic potential - was waiting for it, thought it was a bit rubbish until this bit tbh!

midlandsmumof4 · 14/03/2009 00:21

Too much emphasis is given to celebrities. They are not giving their services for nothing-think Terry Wogan some years ago. Contributions by ordinary people who can least afford it should have more recognition.

thumbwitch · 14/03/2009 00:26

are they really not donating their services? [naive emoticon]

pinkteddy · 14/03/2009 00:32

I assumed they gave their services for free too thumbwitch. Thought Terry Wogan did for children in need too. What do you mean midlandsmum about think TW some years ago? [another naive emoticon needed!]

twinsetandpearls · 14/03/2009 00:33

Terry Wogan was paid for children in need

thumbwitch · 14/03/2009 00:35

oh. well I doubt they're all being paid for it.

I am just enjoying the Armstrong&Miller/Mitchell&Webb airmen sketch. I love the A&M airmen sketches...

twinsetandpearls · 14/03/2009 00:37

I doubt they are being paid it was only Terry that was paid for children in need Even if they wanted to be paid I doubt they would want the press wogan got.

pinkteddy · 14/03/2009 00:37

Was he really? Hes so sanctimonious about it on R2 as well. He's been banging on about it all week and moaning about the attention given to comic relief. What a hypocrite!

upagumtree · 14/03/2009 00:45

I agree thunbwhich, the airmen sketch was fabulous. Comedy genius!

thumbwitch · 14/03/2009 01:06

oh I say - they were rather good dancers, weren't they! loving Graham Norton's dress...
