Yeah for April 5th!!!

twentyoneagain · 27/02/2009 15:29

Had no idea it was starting in April. I haven't seen series one only two which I thought was soooo brilliant. Is it worth watching series one? I can't imagine it being as good as the second.

MrsWicket · 27/02/2009 15:39

twentyoneagain - absolutely - you find out how Henry met Anne and it has Sam Neil playing Cardinal Wolsey. Tis fab.

You have made my day! I hoped it wasn't just going to end with Ann Boleyn, Series one is brilliant, got it for Christmas. I know people moan that it's not historically accurate but I don't care, It's just gorgeous to look at!!

bluebump · 27/02/2009 20:49

Woohoooooo! I LOVE this programme...in particular Henry Cavill as Charles Brandon!

expatinscotland · 27/02/2009 20:50

OMG, you mean it's coming back?!

TheThoughtPolice · 27/02/2009 20:52

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I LURVE tHE TUDORS

(damn caps)

I've bouight and been catching uip on series 1 as I missed it and only got into it during season 2.

I bloody love all the gratuitous knobbing Anne

expatinscotland · 27/02/2009 20:53

You bought it?!

ThoughtPolice, you are SAD !

TheOldestCat · 27/02/2009 20:55

Well, sad is one way of describing it. But I seem to recall lots of us enjoyed chatting about it on here, so we all must be a little bit tragic...

I just hope the fellow playing that famous brunette Henry VIII has got better at acting.

TheThoughtPolice · 27/02/2009 20:55

It was £9.99. I bought 2 copies, one for my mate too. We are both perverts enthusiasts.

TheThoughtPolice · 27/02/2009 20:57

I'm just about to start the final 3 episodes on DVD. So the 5/4 start date will work out briliantly for me. S2 is still £27.99 on Play, so I have resisted

expatinscotland · 27/02/2009 20:58

Be strong, TP! Don't buy it! It's naff and sad.

TheOldestCat · 27/02/2009 21:01

Instead, join one of those DVD clubs (we use 'lovefilm') and rent it from them. Probably less tragic than ownership of the thing

FairyCCTaleEnding · 27/02/2009 21:01

Hmmmm ... quite pleased it's coming back. Didn't get totally into it, though Anne's execution was very moving.

I just wish it was Rome they were bringing back. Now there was something to get hooked on.

liath · 27/02/2009 21:03

Hope they make Henry a bit older and fatter this time. It's getting a bit silly - wasn't he in his 40s when he married Jane Seymore?

TheThoughtPolice · 27/02/2009 21:06

TOC, I love ER too. I'm not ashamed to admit it, either.

Less toe-curling than owning all the Catherine Cookson itv adaptations or keeping any of the DVDs/CDs you get free int he papers.

TheThoughtPolice · 27/02/2009 21:12

MrsWicket - Where have you seen this ?

Northernlurker · 27/02/2009 21:13

I loved Rome too! Qite pleased to see the Tudors back though I do get most distraught at the historical errors! I will be very interested to see how long it takes Jane Seymour to die. As I recall she survived the birth perfectly well and got on with stuiff - then was struck down about 10 days later from infection - or have I got her mixed up with Katherine Parr - or did they both have childbed fever? Obviously I must do some reading in order to sneer with authority!

expatinscotland · 27/02/2009 21:56

Oh, god, I'm surrounded by the Take a Break/Chat readers of the TV viewing world!

expatinscotland · 27/02/2009 21:57

Both Jane Seymour and Katherine Parr died of childbed fever roughly 10 days after giving birth, I think Katherine went about a week afterwards.

FairyCCTaleEnding · 27/02/2009 22:06

Excuse ME! I have not ever, never read Take a Break or Chat.

Rome, I was talking about Rome ...

Frizbe · 27/02/2009 22:10

fab i love this series

liath · 27/02/2009 22:14

I only ever read the copies of Take A Break that are lying around at work. That doesn't count, does it?

The Tudors is fab - it's like Dallas in cod-pieces.

Northernlurker · 27/02/2009 22:15

Thank you expat - thought you would know. Anyway - my point was that it will be interesting if she actually does that or if they ham it up and have something more dramatic....

expatinscotland · 27/02/2009 23:11

I'm currently reading, 'A Daughter's Love' Northern. About Margaret Roper, daughter of Thomas More.
