Dollhouse? Anyone? (Whedon fans - Buffy, Angel, Serenity)

Anyone else watching this? (only in fell-off-a-truck-vision in the UK now) What do you think? I saw the first two eps yesterday, and I think I like it.

I also think it'll be cancelled.

I've seen the first and quite liked it, wasn't overwhelmed mind you, but I understand the network interfered a lot with the first few. Second one is sitting on my HD atm, waiting to be seen (no idea where it came from, just appeared )

And yes, it'll be cancelled and then be a huge cult hit on DVD

KingCanuteIAm · 24/02/2009 09:44

Where and when?

Sounds like just my thing

NotQuiteCockney · 24/02/2009 09:50

It's only in fell-off-a-truck-vision right now. No sign of any UK channel buying it yet.

The second has less cheesecake, which was something that bugged me about the first. (I kept shouting 'get trousers!' in the party scene. I mean, honestly. ) You can always amuse yourself playing 'spot the Buffy/Angel/Serenity/Whatever alumni'.

Oh, and I'm thoroughly to find you on here, serenity.

Serenity - did you download, because we couldn't find it to download!

Love Joss Whedon stuff - but the network did mess around with it and have put it on a Friday night slot in America which basically means death.....

Great to get Faith back on screen (DH will be pleased too which allows me to obsess over Jensen without the guilt)

NotQuiteCockney · 24/02/2009 09:55

We use piratebay.org for downloading, and DH had no problem finding it there.

OP posts:
Lemontart · 24/02/2009 09:56

ooh not seen it yet...

serenity · 24/02/2009 09:59

I'm predictable, it's part of my charm...

That dress was very very short. DH approved quite wholeheartedly.

Unless it's guaranteed to be a sure fire hit, no one will buy it yet. It'll be cheaper if it gets cancelled, so they'll wait and see.

I'm also watching Leverage via back-of-the-truck-vision, but that's got a second season so it'll probably turn up on Sky soon (it has Christian Kane (Lindsay/Angel) being rugged and buff in it, and is very good as well)

annaje · 24/02/2009 09:59

We normally use Limewire for downloading - so will have to check again....

Lemontart · 24/02/2009 09:59

Is piratebay still running?? I thought those guys were in serious legal poo

psychomum5 · 24/02/2009 10:00

oooh, I have heard of this. is it any good???

psychomum5 · 24/02/2009 10:01

am I right in thinkng 'faith' is in it??

am sure it was in an interview or (something I read about her) where I heard about this....

serenity · 24/02/2009 10:02

Yep, we use Mininova or Piratebay. Usually an EZTV torrent via either of those sites.

annaje · 24/02/2009 10:02

I've heard Leverage is doing well (another one to add to the ever expanding list).

serenity · 24/02/2009 10:04

The serious legal stuff has been dropped, but there's still some aiding and abetting charges pending (but not quite as bad)

serenity · 24/02/2009 10:06

Leverage is very good, kind of like Bones in feel (humourous yet serious) and with really likeable characters. I'm positive it'll get picked up for over here, either Sky1 or Five.

Lemontart · 24/02/2009 10:07

Just been reading some online reviews of DollHouse, the plot sounds brilliant!

NotQuiteCockney · 24/02/2009 10:08

Piratebay are so lovely, they're just so ... sarcastic. And Swedish.

What is Leverage? Is it SF? (DH is watching Sanctuary atm, but he watches a lot of SF, he's still watching BSG, and Terminator Sarah Connor which I just never bothered with.)

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 24/02/2009 10:09

DH is watching Bones. I've not bothered. Can't stand Boreananz, not even enough to work out how to spell his name! I figure if it gets good he'll tell me about it. Or something. I'll tell him about Leverage, anyway.

Great - always glad to get another good show with obsess over (Supernatural has got one year left if lucky - has it been picked up for it's 5th year yet?)

Please give us one more year - those boys are very talented

NotQuiteCockney · 24/02/2009 10:15

Oh, if you like geeky, you might like Big Bang Theory - it's a sitcom, but v geeky and funny and science oriented.

OP posts:
serenity · 24/02/2009 10:24

Second Big Bang Theory - it's very funny. We've managed to get the DCs addicted to it (well Dh has!)

NotQuiteCockney · 24/02/2009 11:31

How old are your DCs? I could imagine mine watching it, maybe ...

OP posts:
serenity · 24/02/2009 12:10

11, 8 and 5. DD loves it, but I'm not entirely sure why, maybe she just likes it because the boys do? 5yo's are weird tbh. The boys are just geeks is proud
