Dollhouse? Anyone? (Whedon fans - Buffy, Angel, Serenity)

Anyone else watching this? (only in fell-off-a-truck-vision in the UK now) What do you think? I saw the first two eps yesterday, and I think I like it.

I also think it'll be cancelled.

I was disappointed - but I have faith in Whedon and it will get better - but it will probably get cancelled. It was lacking in any likeable characters IMO which normally his shows are filled with (buffy, firefly etc...)

not watched it yet.. but DH and I are conspiring to download it... as I adore JW... read a few bits about it and its supposedly a very slow burner ... at least DH will get to drool over Faith and I can happily watch Supernatural without guilt.

meridian - I agree - at least we can drool over Jensen without the guilt (not that I had much guilt to begin with)

The latest ep was a lot better. I actually found myself involved. Which is good, as the ep before was just crappy ...

Serenity - DH says big thanks for Leverage. I haven't tried watching it (busy with Big Love, and we have 7 billion TV shows to watch together) but he's really really enjoying it, and is v grateful.

I've seen 4 of the episodes so far - the last couple were better, but it still has some way to go. I'm not sure they will get the viewers in a Friday night slot. So unless it picks up really quickly - it doesn't have a future.

I'm really enjoying it and am so pleased that sci-fi channel has picked it up. Hope they stick with it.

I hear it has got second season. Personally, bit disappointed. The personality implant premise leaves them with none of their only so bit flat. May give it a couple more eps to see if gets going but at least new season Chuck starts soon.

It is okay, well fairly enjoyable considering what else is on at the moment. Can't wait until True Blood starts though.

Speaking of Joss, well, not really, when is Capt. Mal Nathan Fillion's Castle being shown in UK?

As this is the Whedon thread it seems like the right place to post.

Has anyone else heard the potentially horrendous news that there is talk of a new Buffy film based on the original film WITHOUT either Joss Whedon or any of the series cast .

Apparently the original film directors the Kuzais still own the rights to Buffy and they've decided to try to reboot it.

It would be fantastic news if Joss was on-board but terrifying if he isn't! What does everyone else think?

Buffy film

I wasn't taken with the first episode but was determined to give it a longer go - glad I did cos I really enjoyed the 2nd episode and can feel it drawing me in.

I do feel it's a bit of a one trick deal though - once we get to the bottom of who Echo really is, why she decided to join Dollhouse etc - not sure where else they could go..might fizzle in the same way Heroes did after all the 'Save The Cheerleader' stuff.

New Buffy film could be interesting, but nothing will ever top the actual series IMO.

I have only watched the first episode of Dollhouse but I rather liked it though my DH didn't.. will continue watching and see how it goes...

my friends told me about the possible new Buffy movie and I was horrified.. it won't get my ticket money if it dosent have Joss writing it.. though I do think the last season of Buffy lost its edge a bit...if I love dollhouse then I'm sure it will get canceled thats what happens to most of my favourite shows..
