Lyrics for 'Big Cook, Little Cook' and assorted trivial questions about 'Me Too'.

My DS likes me to sing the cleaning up song from Big Cook, Little Cook

I keep forgetting to pay attention and never seem to have a pen to hand - although, not being able to do shorthand, I'm not sure that would be much of an advantage.

Something about 'Pots and Pans will start to smell if we don't wash them really well..... bla bla bla, ........ the cleanest cafe in town.'

If anyone else has a better memory than me and happens to know (long shot I know) then would be grateful to hear from you.

Also:
In 'Me Too', what excatly is Granny Murray? A childminder? Why do the children sometimes sleep there? Is the concept of 'overnight childminding' realistic? (showing my ignorance here.)

Final useless question - where it is filmed - Edinburgh? To me (sat at home) it looks quite nice (yes I need to get out more!)

Don't get me on Justin Fletcher.......I'll go all week at the knees

BouncingTurtle · 15/01/2009 07:01

Cbeebies website has all the songs and there are karaoke versions as well with lyrics (was using the site to distract ds one from DH who was eating very sugary breakfast cereal!)

geordieminx · 15/01/2009 08:36

Whinegums - I'm in Uddy

AngeChica · 15/01/2009 20:40

BCLC here.

Sorry folks. I have a puerile sens of humour!

scrappydappydoo · 15/01/2009 20:58

How can bclcs cafe be 'the best cafe in the world' when they only seem to have one customer a day, they spend hours making the dish (sometimes overnight!!) and they get 'paid' with a card and token present. erm that sounds like a very unsuccessful cafe if you ask me....
I get very angry at the adult characters on cbeebies - they are thick as 2 short planks and they all seem to have all day to do really trivial things - I mean in balamory they seem to spend all day doing things for the nursery and no actual 'work' - don't they realise that there is a recession???
And what about auntie mabels carbon footprint???
(scrappy wanders off ranting...)

Nah I reckon Bobbi and dr Juno have got something going on. I bloody hate little cook he's a right megalomaniac, suddenly all our fairy tales now involve little cook??!! I don't want my son growing up thinking effing little cook is the one who foiled Rumplestiltskin! Surely there's a law against this?!?! (deeeeep breaths...)

Trebuchet · 15/01/2009 21:19

I had a really dirty dream about cbeebies Chris, I know I know, I woke up horrified!! He was filthy!!!

midnightexpress · 15/01/2009 21:21

My question about BCLC. Why does BC insist on putting on his oven gloves to put things into the oven? And how does he keep them looking so clean and new (possibly by only having one customer a day).

drdad · 15/01/2009 22:07

Manchester city centre (complete with tram) is also clearly visible at times in Me Too

Jojo12 · 16/01/2009 00:52

Apparently the Me Too interiors are filmed in a unit on an industrial estate in Hillington, Glasgow (between Glasgow and Glasgow Airport). My frend's daughter was an extra on it for one episode. Think Rudi's market stall is filmed at the Castle Terrace farmers market in Edinburgh.

Wash, wipe scrub and clean,
Make the kitchen sparkle and gleam,
My names Ben,and my names Small,
We've got the cleanest kitchen of all,
Tidy all the bits and bobs,
the things that help us do our jobs,
Ingredients we put away,
Ready for use another day,
Pots and pans will start to smell,
if we don't wash them really well,
now it's clear, let's all smile
We'll be ready in a little while
All around, up and down,
we've got the cleanest cafe in town!!!

nappyaddict · 16/01/2009 01:12

Me too is filmed in Glasgow but on the journey bit they use shots from manchester, london, newcastle etc I think to make it recognisable to the children watching it.

solidgoldsoddingjanuaryagain · 16/01/2009 01:40

Me Too is completely mental. I hated it from the beginning as 'Granny' Murray is clearly about 10 years younger than me (though someone pointed out to me that she could be a Glasgow Grandma ie her kids were off her hands and having their own DC by the time she was 28).
My current pet hate is 3rd and Bird. You know that fancy recipe where you stuff a pigeon inside a chicken inside a pheasant inside a (dunno... vulture?)? Well that's the episode of 3rd and Bird I want to see.

LadyOfWaffle · 16/01/2009 01:52

I LOVE 3rd and bird! So cute. And Come Outside and dotty Auntie Mabel.

Butkin · 16/01/2009 12:59

DD likes to sigh "and that's something for your grown-up helper to do" whenever they have to cook anything hot.

Have you compared it to Ch.4's offering where they have Captain Cook making something similar to BCLC? Lots of stage school kids, a yeti and far too high productions values.

nellyup · 16/01/2009 13:15

See, my gripe about Me Too is why they changed the music. First ever series the songs had certain tunes which, as my two were avid fans, I got quite used to. Then, for some reason, they changed the tunes. Not the words, just the tunes. If you look carefully on the older episodes you can see that the characters' mouths don't quite match to the tune.

Drives me irrationally insane for some reason. Perhaps I need to get out more....

Macdog · 16/01/2009 13:20

I liked the old tunes too. Sometimes they slip up and show the old tune episodes.
Far superior

BlueCowBackToWondering · 16/01/2009 13:27

Rudi is blind? How have I never noticed this in all my many years of CBeebies?
But I do know all the words to all the theme tunes...

VampiresWalkin · 16/01/2009 13:32

Why does no-one steal from a blind market trader?

emiliec2011 · 15/06/2011 20:58

Jelly boat and pirates, gold princess pea pies, carrot cakes and fruit smiles and envelope surprise, we love our cafe and we loveto cook, we have a fantastic receipe book. He is big cook, and he is small, friends in our cafe we love one and all. When your tummy gets all rumbley, its ready for a treat, we can make something delicious to eat.

I can even act out all the symbols that they do :)
