Lyrics for 'Big Cook, Little Cook' and assorted trivial questions about 'Me Too'.

My DS likes me to sing the cleaning up song from Big Cook, Little Cook

I keep forgetting to pay attention and never seem to have a pen to hand - although, not being able to do shorthand, I'm not sure that would be much of an advantage.

Something about 'Pots and Pans will start to smell if we don't wash them really well..... bla bla bla, ........ the cleanest cafe in town.'

If anyone else has a better memory than me and happens to know (long shot I know) then would be grateful to hear from you.

Also:
In 'Me Too', what excatly is Granny Murray? A childminder? Why do the children sometimes sleep there? Is the concept of 'overnight childminding' realistic? (showing my ignorance here.)

Final useless question - where it is filmed - Edinburgh? To me (sat at home) it looks quite nice (yes I need to get out more!)

Tina is defo a beard. Or he/she's a trannie and they're a gay couple.

nickytwotimes · 14/01/2009 14:34

Oh, yes, Tina and Raymond DEFINITELY a lavender marriage.
If her 'big pink taxi' isn't a metaphor, then I'm the pope.

geordieminx · 14/01/2009 14:39

We have a cat called Samson, DS gets very confused when Samson the dog goes to Granny Murray's.

Bella73 · 14/01/2009 14:46

Heh, yes the "pretty pink taxi". For some reason, I love Raymond episodes (as does DD1) but can't stand Tina episodes.

Mickey-John (why double-barrelled?) is definitely the worst teacher in the world. And he's NEVER prepared his lessons in advance.

Poledra · 14/01/2009 14:52

Isn't the ferry boat band girl's name Louis (as in hte bloke's name)? And isn't odd that she never drops off/collects their child from Granny Murray's? Or is it that she (like most of us ) would deck that smug smiling face as it gives you a little aphorism to take with you on your day?

Bella73 · 14/01/2009 14:58

Yeah that's it, Louis (in my head it's definitely a man's name - like Chuck in fact - which is confusing).

I think Granny Murray is a specialist childminder, who only works with incredibly stupid parents who need help getting through the day. Think about it, the obvious little bits of advice, the need to "keep an eye" on the departing parents to make sure they find their way to work... the dilemmas that the parents find themselves in ("oh, I've stuck up all the posters back to front... where did the time go?" or "oh, I've run out of paper bags for my market stall... where did the time go?"). This is why she also takes overnight mindees (Kai) and dogs (Samson).

Louis clearly never drops off/picks up Jack (JACK, JACK, Rudi and Louis' son is called Jack, I remembered!) is because she is far too intelligent and therefore doesn't qualify for the specialist support offered by Granny Murray.

MaggsS · 14/01/2009 15:18

I think I need a lie down

WriggleJiggle · 14/01/2009 18:56

As a childminder, why does Granny Murray look after Samson?

littlelamb · 14/01/2009 19:00

And in Big Cook Little Cook, why don't the customers ever actually get to pick what they eat??!

nickytwotimes · 14/01/2009 19:27

Well, I think that this thread has highlighted some very serious questions that need to be addressed!

Macdog · 14/01/2009 19:51

Too many questions, so little time.....

whinegums · 14/01/2009 20:00

Am even more disturbed by Me Too now!

Geordieminx - DS is just over 6 months now. You're Sooside as well aren't you? Would be up for a coffee sometime, but only if we can also discuss pease pudding and the Lambton Worm (now that would make an EXCELLENT story on Cbeebies, if slightly scary).

Amapoleon · 14/01/2009 20:52

Hahaha but what does she sing at the beginning?

Flumpybumpy · 14/01/2009 21:05

I can't stand Me Too! it is complete pants. Thabks to this thread I am now singing the BCLC song over and over in my head.

So wish i hadn't clicked on this thread

siriusmew · 14/01/2009 21:16

"Granny Murrays house has two at home to play,
Granny Murrays house is home to...." Then she goes and introduces the random children she has knocking about her living room.

ElizabethanFilth · 14/01/2009 21:31

I was dead chuffed when I saw Fimbles is back on CBeebies today.

Flumpybumpy · 14/01/2009 21:36

Slight change of subject but talking of slightly disturbing programmes, did anyine see that Balamory episode with the wedding??? miss Hoolie was a bridesmaid and PC Plonker (Plum) was best man?? He and Miss Hoolie were flirting outrageously (sp?) and even snogged at the end!!! WTF!!!!

siriusmew · 14/01/2009 21:40

I always suspected those two where having a fling. She always gets a bit skittish when he's around! I wouldn't mind having a fling with Archie!

goingonfortynoelectricshocks · 14/01/2009 21:44

Oh God No! Not The Fimbles - it was sooooo bad first time around they remade it.......

..........without the Fimbles (Roly Mo).

siriusmew · 14/01/2009 22:04

I did see a good episode of the fimbles where Rocket got stuck in Rolly Mo's hole!

apollo11 · 14/01/2009 22:11

the me too school is filmed in Gourock. which is in scotland for all you southeners.

siriusmew · 14/01/2009 22:17

Is that near Port Glasgow/Greenock?

MrsSeanBean · 14/01/2009 22:20

Archie has a very sexy accent. And he could look quite good if he had a decent haircut. I don't know what it is about watching cbeebies, but I have also found myself strangely attracted to Justin Fletcher (when not dressed as Mr Tumble or a variation thereof!)
