Really RudyDudy? Wow - well, they did have to think of something - today's kids are not so easy to fool! It will spoil Izzards sketch though!

I'm just a sucker for leather jackets and battered leather jackets... swoon

GeorginaA · 26/03/2005 20:21

Um.. that should have read short haircuts and battered leather jackets...

My swooning has obviously addled my brain.

Amanda3266 · 26/03/2005 20:23

Fabulous. Am a bit of a Doctor Who anorak (since meeting DH) and I thoroughly enjoyed this. Brilliant new series. Can't wait for next week. Though I would love to slaughter whichever idiot forgot to switch off the Graham Norton voice in the early few minutes of the episode.

FIMAC1 · 26/03/2005 20:38

Your a star hubby and dd will not kill me now! (watching it with sick ds and completely forgot to tape it for them while they were at Tescos

RTKangaMummy · 26/03/2005 20:44

Thanks

serenity · 26/03/2005 20:48

Excellent, really enjoyed it! DS1 hid pretty much all the way through it, but DS2 loved it.

unicorn · 26/03/2005 20:54

fantastic prog!

I actually thought Billie P was brill.(eat yer heart out Chris E!!!)

and Christopher E (wierd?!) was as amazing as ever, but this episode was more about Rose.

About time there was some quality tv on Saturday night.

It is bound to be made into a video compilation for Christmas- I can see it now.

coppertop · 26/03/2005 21:23

I taped it to watch later with dh and instead found ds1 practically glued to the screen!

I saw the first 15mins and am now looking forward to watching the rest later.

bluesky · 26/03/2005 21:26

amanda, I heard that too, thought it was my dodgy taping! really enjoyed it, thought they were both really good. Still felt it belonged to the old Dr Who, the old tardis and the sound effects. We recorded it before ds watches it, just so I could check just how scary it was, as I do remember being scared when I was younger.

Moomin · 26/03/2005 21:40

have been sooooo unreasonably excited about this being on. watched dr who as a kid and was scared to death (tom baker was mostly my era). i love CE and everything he's ever been in. still get shivers remembering his death on Cracker "this is the statement of a dying man" - does anyone else remember this? ooooo

when the theme tune started up it was so evocative. russell t davies (writer) is fab as well and can't seem to put a foot wrong. hoorah for a bit of escapism and drama on saturday nights instead of the old quiz shows and reality-type knock-out progs.

dh made me laugh at the end. he said 'oh i REALLY enjoyed that. and i LOVED his jacket' I'm sure he's got more female hormones than me sometimes.

marthamoo · 26/03/2005 22:02

Just watched it. Disced it (video schmideo) so we could "vet" it and see if it was OK for ds1 to watch. It was bloody brilliant! Much better than I thought it would be. I liked the wit and humour and even old Billie wasn't bad. Christopher E is rather sexy, is he not?

Looking forward to the rest of the series.

samdarling · 26/03/2005 22:18

marthamoo - yes DR Who is vvv sexy! Watched it tonight and was pleasantly surprised. Even DH said he would watch it again. Thought Billy Piper was very good and the chemistry between her & DR Who was electric. Thought the wheely bin was a bit silly. Having seen trailer for next week, aliens look much better.

i was properly traumatised about it for ages!

LGJ · 26/03/2005 23:13

Major admission here............my cousin about twice, if not more removed.............Lorcan Crannitch a la Jimmy Beck....was resonsible for Bilborough's death................I was shiczoid for weeks. CE, won in the end.
