Just seen him on Never Mind the Buzzcocks.

He is very funny. Am even contemplating buying his album on the strength of it [fdickhead]

Well, yes, it is very cool and attractive that he's so unselfconscious (insert your own hyphen), but the music he sings is SO DULL, it's just a waste.

february song is so beautiful...but you have to be in the mood for his songs.....not sure what that mood is tbh?

reflective maybe?

OrmIrian · 14/12/2008 16:56

He was funny and self-deprecating and unselfconscious. Also fantastic voice. Don't know enough of his music to judge. But he seemes like a bit of sweetie on Buzzcocks.

February Song is lovely, sooooo much better than You Raise Me Up, which I have a sneaking feel actually was sung by Harry Secombe.

daftpunk · 14/12/2008 17:19

...i like you bran,..... but be fair...

you raise me up has been sung by everyone!

MEGawayinamangerCLEARY · 14/12/2008 17:35

just been you tubing him wildly and found a drum solo ....sigh......he's so cute .......feel like a teenager with a crush

AndATigerschickInAPearTree · 14/12/2008 17:39

LOL Meg - I think I may have found my "If he comes knocking, I'm off, mate" person to counter DH's unnatural crush on Katie Melua

MEGawayinamangerCLEARY · 14/12/2008 17:42

i'll fight ya for him Tiger ha ha

AndATigerschickInAPearTree · 14/12/2008 17:43

...

bran · 14/12/2008 17:48

Daftpunk - it has been sung by everyone - everyone who sings dull stuff. I don't believe the Kaiser Chiefs (for random eg) have had a version of it released.

(I like you too BTW , unless you meant "I like you but ..." in the sense of "I find you quite irritating")

daftpunk · 14/12/2008 18:20

no, "i like you"

ikwym about the kaisers not singing it..but you never know?

fall out boy did a brilliant cover of michael jacksons "beat it"

mamadoc · 14/12/2008 21:00

I accidentally started watching this and he was so funny I couldn't switch it off.

You start off thinking he will be an over earnest American, just not get it and will all be horribly cringy but he was fab.

You could see Phil Jupitas and Martin Freeman sort of giving him 'go on my son' looks when he was giving as good as he got with Simon too.

WalkinginWaynettaWonderland · 14/12/2008 22:47

Lordy - I think I may be all "swoonsome" with JG!!! Can we start a cult following? All the young nubile teenagers with long legs and their own teeth.....and us??

WugLetItSnow · 15/12/2008 20:31

I don't think he has many nubile teenagers in his following Waynetta.

I think he appeals more to "older ladies"
