So I'm looking to fill my rental queue on LoveFilm and rather than movies, (which we don't usually have time for except at the weekend) am looking for TV series.

Things we like

West Wing (I actually wanna marry Sam Seaborn [be still my beating heart])
House
Brothers and Sisters
24

Not that keen on CSI, but any others we may have missed?

Thanks all

Gray's Anatomy, Entourage

Trebuchet · 24/10/2008 20:15

Arrested Development, bloody hilarious.

HideousHauntedHalloweenHassled · 24/10/2008 20:15

Lost? Not something that you'd watch for relaxation, though; all edge of the seat stuff. Heroes is excellent.

You're welcome to Sam as long as I get Toby. He may be bearded, but I still love him.

Spoooks ( rupert penry jones is quite nice to look at )

PeterCushi0n · 24/10/2008 20:16

Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Nothing like the ones on your list, but I love it, and recommend it at every available opportunity.

The best thing I've seen in ages is Six Feet Under - finished a while ago but hopefully you can still get it. Emotionally intelligent TV! And utterly gripping, and strange, and funny...

barbiehouse · 24/10/2008 20:24

i love entourage too. gavin and stacey

nooOOOoonki · 24/10/2008 20:24

The Wire - the best TV I have ever watched.

squeaver · 24/10/2008 20:25

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip

AbbaFan · 24/10/2008 20:25

Prison Break

Six feet under

Desperate housewifes

elkiedee · 24/10/2008 20:25

I was wondering if Six Feet Under would appeal to you. Also Weeds.

lulu25 · 24/10/2008 20:26

Habbibu · 24/10/2008 20:26

Blockbuster rent whole box sets out for £5.00 - keep for a week.

Lazycow · 24/10/2008 20:27

The Sopranos - old but by far the best thing I've seen on TV

The Shield is pretty good too but quite hard hitting

midnightexpress · 24/10/2008 20:29

I'm wth PeterCushion - Curb Your Enthusiasm is fabulous. We are working our way through the lot on out Lovefilm account and are always rather disappointed when they email to tell us it's blahdy blah coming instead of the next instalment of CYE.

FlameThrowersKillZombies · 24/10/2008 20:31

Chuck

littlelamb · 24/10/2008 20:33

Arrested Development
Frasier (love to watch this in the evenings)
Lost (though be prepared to get very frustrated- I just watched season 4 in 3 nights and my word am I confused)

elliott · 24/10/2008 20:34

Our Friends in the North - a classic of the 90s. and the series that made the careers of Daniel Craig, Mark Strong and Christopher Ecclestone.
DVDs are pricey though - but if you can find them to rent anywhere, well worth it.

NutterlyUts · 24/10/2008 20:36

Scrubs :D

OliviaMumsnet · 24/10/2008 20:40

Excellent, I knew I could rely on you lot.
Forgot to mention we have watched Studio 60 and also Mad Men (whcih I loved too) and I also like Dirty Sexy Money (isn't the guy in that from Six Feet Under?)
Will investigate all your fab suggestions forthwith.

Oh
Just noticed Halloween smileys
