So I'm looking to fill my rental queue on LoveFilm and rather than movies, (which we don't usually have time for except at the weekend) am looking for TV series.

Things we like

West Wing (I actually wanna marry Sam Seaborn [be still my beating heart])
House
Brothers and Sisters
24

Not that keen on CSI, but any others we may have missed?

Thanks all

or Freamon with his 'tweedy insolence'

anyway, the PLOT is of course what is interesting us. And the dialogue. Not the testosterone. No siree.

Ooh - Bunny Colvin. There's a man who'd take you in hand. If you could get past calling him Bunny, that is.

have got the wire but can't get bothered to start...

nooOOOoonki · 24/10/2008 21:11

Habbibu - I feel your pain

and Bunny is more of a friend than a lover to me. If only he could run the US police force hey!

MegBusset · 24/10/2008 21:11

Also Carver, Sydnor, oh and how could I forgot Daniels! In fact The Wire is a total babe-fest.

childrenofthecornsilk · 24/10/2008 21:12

Dexter

MegBusset · 24/10/2008 21:12

I'd like to give Bunk a big cuddle too.

Habbibu · 24/10/2008 21:15

Marlo's the only one that disappoints, tbh - v. pretty, but just nothing there.

nooOOOoonki · 24/10/2008 21:21

I agree with Bunk he is lovely
yeah Marlo is a bit of a let down all round I would say, he is a totally personality-less and he is really loaded and yet hangs out all day in a diused carpark, not much fun to be had there!

brokenrecord · 24/10/2008 21:23

Sopranos is the best thing I've ever seen on tv. It's like watching a brilliant film that just goes on and on.

Second recommendations for The Wire. Think the acting is amazingly good.

georgimama · 24/10/2008 21:23

Rome?

Getting a bit older now, but available on DVD

House of Cards
Chancer
Ultraviolet
Deadwood

Habbibu · 24/10/2008 21:25

Oh - try Firefly too - lots of fun, and Nathan Fillion is just lovely...

georgimama · 24/10/2008 21:26

Dare I say it...

Buffy
Angel

You know you want to...

Boco · 24/10/2008 21:27

I'm lusting after Dennis Cutty. He looks so pure and beautiful.

And Lester Freamon's tweedy insolence of course.

And Daniels has got the most shockingly taut and shiny body I've ever seen! The rude scenes with him had me gawping and spluttering - did you see his buttocks?!

brokenrecord · 24/10/2008 21:27

Oh, and if you can take the gore, Bodies was an excellent series IMO.

Habbibu · 24/10/2008 21:28

Come hither, Wire-lovers - it's a been a bit of a prolonged hijack of Olivia's thread....!

PortAndDemon · 25/10/2008 08:31

Battlestar Galactica
Buffy
Firefly
Heroes
Life on Mars
Reaper
Scrubs
Six Feet Under
State of Play
The Wire
Veronica Mars

(and yes Ultraviolet good thought, georgimama)

If you want comedy...

Black Books
Spaced
