Here we go...

OP posts:
Tigerschick · 26/10/2008 20:14

I'm sooooo pleased that Mark has gone!!
I agree thst their last dance was probably their best, I started to feel sorry for them then reminded myself that they deserved to go. at him ripping his shirt off!! Shy my eye!

Andrew to go next week - unless there is a massive imporvement.

It's going to be a bit frenetic if they're all doing different dances - hard to do fair comparisons really ...

MorticiaAnnSpookington · 26/10/2008 20:22

woo, what about Brian & Kristina's mambo !

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 26/10/2008 20:23

OMG !!!!! Pass the sick bucket, I haven't felt this ill since I had morning sickness.

Macherie, you missed nothing. Honestly. Less than nothing. Mark ripped his shirt off and it was totally cringy - not being one of his fans.

I did feel sorry for Christine. Ooh, sorry, I meant Hayley. 'Brucie's' such a twunt. Tess I just wanted to slap 'it's not about me, it's about you'. That's right dear, it's NOT about you.

Ooh, pass me the gin, I think I need a drink and a bit of Dickens.

Rose100 · 26/10/2008 20:33

I wasn't too sorry to see Mark and Hayley go, they were a bit boring. Not that many of them are very exciting this year- in fact John Sarjent winning this series would be just about right (btw tigers and fiona).

TALLULAHBELLE · 26/10/2008 20:39

Nooooooooo - missed the results show. Thought it was on at 8:30. When was it on? Gah!

MorticiaAnnSpookington · 26/10/2008 20:40

7.15 today

TALLULAHBELLE · 26/10/2008 20:51

Why do they keep changing the f**ing time-slot?

Glad to read that Mark gone though. He was the pits on Sat.

LackaDAISYcal · 26/10/2008 21:29

I think he was even worse tonight in the dance off tallulah. You should be able to catch up with it on iPlayer.

How's you?

tortoiseshellWasMusicaYearsAgo · 26/10/2008 22:02

Mark was definitely the one to go.

I do really like Austin - he is a 'blokey bloke' but has a good sense of humour - have a look on Iplayer at Sat night's show, when Tess announces that the phone lines are open - he's like a little schoolboy trying to get into the shot, Erin isn't sure whether to join in or frown!

Marina · 26/10/2008 22:10

It was going to be Mark. Really pleased for Heather and Jodie that they dodged the dance-off this week.
I am finding John just starting to err on the side of annoying smuggery, though . Yes he is cute and funny but I think he is starting to believe his PR a shade too much. All that talk of "all the fun and sparkle will leave the show with us". Hmmmm. That's a bit presumptuous John! Nice to see the glorious Kristina break sweat in the mambo with Brian - she must have been itching for a proper, full-speed dance.

fionaann · 26/10/2008 22:14

My faith in the Great British public somewhat restored - Mark and Andrew in the bottom two and Jodie saved! I really wish they both could have gone - I was waiting for Craig to say this - but glad that Mark went - reinforced by the cringeworthy shirt ripping at the end. My only fear is that Andrew's fans will vote in numbers next week to make sure he stays in.

And when, when oh when are they going to get rid of Bruce?? His "I wish I was dead" was a strange thing to say - don't be giving us ideas Bruce. He did look really weary at the end - I do think that it's too much live tv for a man his age.

tribpot · 27/10/2008 07:45

Loved the Jersey Boys, definite highlight of the show.

Marina, I think John was joking when he said he didn't know how the show could go on without him, he strikes me as far too modest to believe he can do anything other than dance until his number's up.

Not sorry to see Mark go, it takes a 'special' kind of dancer to do a worse paso than John!

Tigerschick · 27/10/2008 07:53

Tribpot - I agree that he was worse than John but I think part of that has to come down to the choreography. Kristina's dances are so clever because John isn't standing still but he isn't really doing much at all. The paso that Hayley did for Mark was much more complicated. I'm not sure how Mark would have looked doing Kristina's choreography but I am certain that John would never have coped with Hayley's.

That said; I agree that John is still not being anything like serious when he makes all of his daft comments, but maybe he is just a bit too dry ... I only really want him to stay for another 2 or 3 weeks.

Tortoiseshell - I saw Austin and Erin behind Tess - LOL, that's the Austin we know and love

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 27/10/2008 08:31

I heart Kristina. I hope next year she gets a really great partner. She'd wipe the floor with everyone else - except maybe Flavia who I also heart.

RamblingRosa · 27/10/2008 08:37

I felt really sorry for Mark. He was a crap dancer so it was right that he went but he seems like such a sweetie and he's absolutely gorgeous to look at (yet I don't really fancy him because he seems far too sweet and meek for my liking IYSWIM).

Brucie's gaff and the "I wish I was dead" comment cracked me up.

I thought Rachel and Vincent's dance was lovely. Missed the beginning so didn't see Austin's.

I thought Brian and Kristina's mambo was AMAZING! I've said on here before that Brian's totally unfanciable but I might have to change my opinion on that...

FimboGotAxed · 27/10/2008 08:48

You think they would have cut Brucies gaff out seeing as that bit is recorded.

Rose100 · 27/10/2008 08:50

I think Kristina is a big part of why John has done so well- she treats him with such respect and kindness (even though she must have despaired when she was first paired with him) and the public like that.

I also really like Austin, but I think his spark has been a bit flattened by Erin "death stare" Boag. He and Lilia would have been a fabulous match.

Ola's grown on me a lot too this series.

tortoiseshellWasMusicaYearsAgo · 27/10/2008 08:57

I did laugh at Bruce's gaffe - but he obviously did feel quite bad about it!

Anyone who didn't spot Austin larking around behind the cameras - go back and look on iplayer - it's near the end just before the recap of the dances. He does seem a very funny bloke!

fionaann · 27/10/2008 08:58

Rose "death stare" Erin Boag. Agree that he and Lilia would have been great together. Odd how they were put together as they are almost the same height and there's a foot between Andrew and Ola.

cocoleBOO · 27/10/2008 09:04

What was Bruce's gaff?

FimboGotAxed · 27/10/2008 09:05

He said something to Mark along the lines of "is there anything you want to say to your lovely partner KRISTINA

cocoleBOO · 27/10/2008 09:06

Thanks Trust him.

cyteen · 27/10/2008 09:50

The Jersey Boys blokes were awful! Worse than an X Factor group performance. I do hate that song though.

cyteen · 27/10/2008 09:55

Brian and Kristina Agree with Zeb, if she gets partnered with someone good next year she'll be unstoppable.

HappyMummyOfOne · 27/10/2008 10:04

This is the first series of SCD i've watched and i'm hooked.

Love Kristina, paired with the hardest contestant but she treats him so well and knows his limits - hope she gets a really good partner next year. Her mambo was great, she's definately the best female dancer. I like John, he does bring an element of fun to the show.

Glad Mark went, seems to have a nice personality but no rythmn and focussed a bit too much on his looks for my liking.

Andrew will probably go next week but he was far more relaxed in the dance off than I have seen him all series and it did make him a little better.

Hope Jodie stays in a while longer - nothing to do with the fact that she has the sexy Ian for a partner

Favourites to win are Lisa for the girls and Austin for the boys - both seem really genuine and nice people.

Usually only watch Saturday night and the last 15 mins of the Sunday show for the vote off but watched it all last night for Enrique
