Think one is one of those SOS things not a watch.....Thought it was predicatable they would all be in the challange

SpookyButNice · 22/10/2008 21:16

Oh god.

If by some miracle Alastair wasn't gay, I think I'd have a teeny tiny crush on him.

swisspigs · 22/10/2008 21:16

We are part of a dinner club and any reputable dinner club that accepts a free glass of CHEAP wine is not a reputable dinner club!

llareggub · 22/10/2008 21:46

what happened? My sky+ has been deprogrammed by my DS....help!

WideWebWitch · 22/10/2008 21:47

I agree vegans are bloody annoying, really. Veggies less so and Tim really should have done better imo

llareggub · 22/10/2008 21:48

please? we need to know!

expatinscotland · 22/10/2008 21:49

What is a dinner club?

bundle · 22/10/2008 21:50

fivegomadindorset
I did a huge chicken casserole, with mustard/olive oil/garlic
a big dish of roast veg
a big green salad
a bowl of new potatoes
fruit salad
ice cream

WideWebWitch · 22/10/2008 21:52

They're ALL in The Challenge.

Tim served vegans with sauteed cabbage and ran out of the only pudding they could have: poached pears

Cheerful Soul served crostini to coeliacs

Alistair and James gave loads of wine away and were slagged off for the food by some pretentious arses from a 'supper club' (I assume they go out for supper and critique it) but Ali got 10/10 for foh

WideWebWitch · 22/10/2008 21:53

That precis was for llareggub

llareggub · 22/10/2008 21:56

Thanks WWW. DH is still moaning about the lack of a recording. Is it the last episode tomorrow?

WideWebWitch · 22/10/2008 21:59

llareggub, can you get it from iplayer? I think you can and the quality's ok, we missed one and watched it on there.

WideWebWitch · 22/10/2008 22:00

here

llareggub · 22/10/2008 22:01

ooh, good idea. I think they've gone mac compatible now. Crosses fingers...

georgiemum · 22/10/2008 22:02

A dinner club seems to be where you go to a restaurant to be hideously critical and horrible about the food and restaurant. What a nest of vipers!

Not sure about the cabbage though!

bundle · 22/10/2008 22:06

geogiemum, or simply "hideous"

georgiemum · 22/10/2008 22:10

I could do that. I have only ever complained in a restaurant once (and it was truly terrible, and I can eat just about anything -I was not called 'cast-iron-belly' as a child for nothing!). The waitress hurumphed and said 'the other waitress made that - I said it was terrible but she persuaded the chef to let her cook.. mutter mutter...' then marched back to the kitchen brandishing the plates.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 22/10/2008 22:20

Sounds lovely bundle

bundle · 22/10/2008 22:23

it was fine, i was v stressed! never again!

cupchar · 22/10/2008 23:10

Aren't they all idiots - no wonder there's an extra challenge.

Blackduck · 23/10/2008 06:43

Agree Tim shouldhave done better, BUT, in his defense, if his menu clear has no veggie/vegan dishes surely they should have pointed out when they booked that they WERE veggie/vegan (stuff RBs email to them* - I am a veggie (dons hardhat) and I will always ask BEFORE I book partic in places with limited menus etc said
Frankly don't care what RB says but I've been in places where they would have said, in not so many words, tough, here's the menu and we have nothing else (a bit like Russell and ice cream man)
If you don't eat certain things or have dietry needs its only polite to let people know IMO

pagwatch · 23/10/2008 07:31

I LOVE Michelle.
She does the best hissy fit I have ever seen in anyone over three. That fantastic nasal whiney " mmwwhee I just don't want to do this anymore"
And i love that she endlessly goes on about how they are so close and rely on each other and whenever there is a problem she runs away 'mmmwhhheeee-ing' as she goes.

I [heart] her. I just want to prod her with a stick and tell her she is crap until she stomps off on those little pitty patty feet.

Blackduck · 23/10/2008 07:44

She and Russell are on Breakfast TV tomorrow - does this mean they are out tonight?

filz · 23/10/2008 08:15

lol @ bundle saying vegans are annoying. My friend is a vegan and started being a vegetarian because "I dont want to live longer than everyone else ((as a vegan)) whilst all my friends and family die first because they are veggies and meat eaters'

I thought Michelle and her partner were the most realistic, organised and best of all really. I unluckily dont think they will win though and he will go for the all male couple instead

squeaver · 23/10/2008 08:25

I thought Tim and Thin Lips got the roughest deal of all. God what a cheerless bunch those veggie/vegans were. Didn't even look like they'd had a glass of wine between them. BUT he should have planned more that 3 Mushroom Puddings for potentially a restaurant full of veggies/whatever.

James did NOT LIKE Ali getting the praise, did he? They remind me of Joe Orton and his boyfriend who killed him.

I think I might fancy Russell, just a little bit. I reckon him and Moany have a LOT of sex.
