Has anyone else noticed that Nel's husband is the spitting image of Martin Freeman who starred in The Office? It is uncanny.

cremolafoam · 17/10/2008 10:47

if cod ever comes back she should be called " Scaloops"

My theory is that the boys will be kept in until the final two, and then Raymond will let them come second.

I love this programme, but it has me twisting in my chair with cringe every week.

WideWebWitch · 17/10/2008 10:52

That was the right decision, she was arrogant and she can't cook although he is fab.

Silly girly bursting into tears, didn;t do herself any favours imo.

Also think Ali and James will win but don;t deserve to

cupchar · 17/10/2008 10:55

How do they always do so appallingly - what rubbish cook books - although good pic on j&a's He should fire the lot of them & get some better contestants

fumf · 17/10/2008 10:55

mayognaise made me chuckle. Poor lad.
I feel so sad that they will probably never speak to each other gagain once this series is over and James has been employed by Raymond and Alasdair is ''let go''...

lilolilmanchester · 17/10/2008 11:55

Surely he's keeping J&A in for TV entertainment factor? Do you think any of them are up to running a Raymond Blanc standard restaurant? I'd pick the couple who weren't in this week's challenge, but still don't think they're as good as in previous years.

PuppyMonkey · 17/10/2008 12:07

They were always looking for an excuse to get rid of Nel, cos she can't cook. RB wants to work with a proper chef and whatever you think about the other couples, the chefs can all cook. RB will probably bring in his own front of house people when the winner actually gets chosen anyway.

PuppyMonkey · 17/10/2008 12:07

Btw, has OP actually revealed which restaurant it is she went to yet?

Now I've come round to actually wanting James and Alisdair to win - J can cook and 'm sure A can be trained (well maybe). Their book looked really good and spellings are not difficult to sort, they have a good concept. I think Raymond like the idea of them as they are young enough to learn and change.
Glad Helen went, bad food never a goer and her book looked as though it been compiled by an eleven year old. Far too arrogant.
Michelle really can't take any kind of criticism!
Poppy eye man's eyes are just too annnoying and she is a bit drippy.

wannaBe · 18/10/2008 16:57

I want james and alasdair to win too.

But I don't think that even if they win they'll stick at it. James has apparently already worked in restaurants and yet now he's a bouncer - why?

Blackduck · 19/10/2008 18:27

As weds episode involves bringing back some of the less happy diners to each restuarant does that mean TP will end up having to deal with Mr obnoxious 'this is shite'?

Butkin · 20/10/2008 02:02

Favourite moment so far was the resigned "oh no here we go again" from Michelle's boyfriend/husband when she stormed off in another "I can't do this" tantrum.

She is so brittle and I'd be amazed if they are still together - she could be a real bunny boiler

ninedragons · 20/10/2008 05:17

I think it will all come out in a few weeks that the pork chops at The Cheerful Soul were actually human flesh.

They definitely get my vote for Reality TV Couple Most Likely To Have Teenage Runaways Buried Under Their Patio.

Blackduck · 20/10/2008 07:41

read their blog - it definately implies that much of what we see (and of course we know this) is editing and in fact there was other stuff going on in her life.....so whilst she grates on me I have some sympathy - I think I'd be a raving loon if I did it - the sheee pressure of it!

filz · 20/10/2008 08:34

Gateau · 20/10/2008 09:41

Love James and Alasdair. I think they're hilarious and have the best attitude. And James is the best chef. I think front-of-house skills can be learnt.
How ironic: there is no more cheerLESS a soul than Russell.

wannaBe · 20/10/2008 13:49

where is the blog? where where where?

MaggsS · 22/10/2008 07:14

Have you looked at The restaurant site WannaBe?
You get lots of extras there
Not long until the next instalment

lilibet · 22/10/2008 11:30

Can't wait.

I think Tim to win

Alistair's letting James down, even though his cooking looks wonderful

And Raymond can't consider working with the squeaky woman

RTKangaMummy · 22/10/2008 11:31

We went to Cheerful Soul and it was great fun and Michelle is a lovely friendly woman we didn't see Russell ~ cos obviously he was in kitchen

The food was lovely and we didn't have to wait

It was a really really deffo brill evening

The restaurant that was turned into Cheerful Soul was an Italian one that was rented by BBC and is now back to being as it was beforehand iyswim ~ after a sort of makeover

lilibet · 22/10/2008 11:59

So are we all wrong about Michelle?

Have you been on tv?

RTKangaMummy · 22/10/2008 12:14

IMHO and IME yes

I wasn't cos of the seat I was in but the others were

OP posts:
RTKangaMummy · 22/10/2008 12:20

It is extremely edited as you would expect

The food was deffo brill, service was deffo brill and very friendly

Michelle remembered our friends who had been there before with other people

She is very friendly bubbly but deffo NOT OTT

It was a deffo brill evening and also you wouldn't know you weren't in a proper restaurant apart from all the cameras and sound equipment etc.
