Is anyone else getting slighty irritated by the woman judge - think she is milking her part a little bit esp compared to the miserable looking other chef type judge??? Its like she always have to have the last word - even over RB! The publicity photo for the prog is also v funny - she is pouting away!

MaggsS · 26/09/2008 20:52

Would have to agree, she certainly loves the sound of her own voice. Has anyone else noticed the false grin she gives the contestants just before/ and after she slags them off.
Hubby seems to have taken a bit of an interest since he caught a sight of her

MaryAnnSingleton · 26/09/2008 21:18

oh I really like her !

WinkyGirl · 28/09/2008 22:18

Please help me - DH are trying to find out who was restaurant of the week this week.

Can someone tell me? Merci!

llareggub · 28/09/2008 22:23

I think it was the overly cheerful couple who have a catering company.

how crap are the boy 'friends' and their French menu ! but not quite as crap as that simpleton at Ray Whites - how hard would it have been to make chilli or some refried beans or proper fajitas ? Poor Welsh Wok man hasn't a clue and am losing patience with Provenance woman

Huggle · 01/10/2008 21:09

2 Words - POACHED PAIRS.

ROFL.

Huggle · 01/10/2008 21:12

Oh yes, those carrots in the tortilla wrap made my stomach turn. They could even have bought a slow cooker or two if they were running out of hob space - chilli fab in that!

squeaver · 01/10/2008 21:12

Odd choice for the challenge. Why the couple missing their son and not the Nel's woman? It wasn't his fault he was sick.

James and Alistair are turning into my comedy highlight of the week. "poached pairs" ROFL

MaryAnnSingleton · 01/10/2008 21:32

I think Raymond wanted to test the crying woman and husband's resolve - to see whether they really are up for it

FiveGoMadInDorset · 01/10/2008 21:34

Got to be the @'mexicans'that go but the french menu definitley made me giggle

AnybodyHomeMcFly · 01/10/2008 21:37

I am a northerner but that pair of fuckwits are giving us all a bad name!

FFS they could have done loads of Mexican dishes on the stove-top - refried beans, chilli and rice, PROPER fajitas not the piss-poor excuses they tried to make. They have to go!

AnybodyHomeMcFly · 01/10/2008 21:39

OMG I just posted the exact same thing as you MaryAnn - sorry, should read more before posting. Anyway, we are right.

MaryAnnSingleton · 01/10/2008 22:42

yes we are !

Blackduck · 02/10/2008 06:38

Yes I was confused over putting crying pair in the challenge - a. wasn;t his fault he was sick and b. his cusomers LIKED his attempt at Japanese food.....unlike Poached PAIRS who were just hopless - coq au vin with white wine (who does he think he is - Nigella Lawson!), and Nel who just didn't go for it. But hey,for soulful food who are becoming serious contenders....

bagsforlife · 02/10/2008 08:18

I can't believe the couple who run Ray White's even got through to be on the series at all. They are so bad, I think they have just been put in as a joke or something. Even the name of the restaurant is appallingly cringeworthy. Agreed, why on earth did that bloke put white wine in the Coq au Vin? Trying to be a bit 'edgy' and clever perhaps????

MaryAnnSingleton · 02/10/2008 10:04

maybe he was attempting coq au Riesling like Nigella but he should have called it Coq au Chablis or some such - it's details like that and duff spelling that will lose them this. The Cheerful Soul folk will walk it.
