My dd is in bed and dh out too. Oh and the wine is open. Nice to know I have some company!

chocolateshoes · 25/09/2008 20:30

Mike annoys me too - he has totally the wrong personality for this job

Trafficcone · 25/09/2008 20:30

And Mike breaks his record for being the most offensive *anker ever..

squeaver · 25/09/2008 20:32

Finally, she got Raleigh correct!

Poor Mike's daughter.

Word · 25/09/2008 20:56

.... drum roll .......

wannaBe · 25/09/2008 21:45

am glad they've gone.

I like Alistair. But I think James is an arogant t.

Blackduck · 26/09/2008 08:07

watched it with a friend (who has never seen it - but did train as a chef) and he said Alistair is all 'me, me, me' and that he doesn't understand front of house. Interesting comment from Raymond that he left the 150 meals to the woman and only did the top table......they will go.....And then the smug 'I got offered a job'....

flatmouse · 26/09/2008 09:03

It was almost Car Crash TV! Was so embarassed - Arriet's dad - SO RUDE to the people trying to tell him what the traditions are - i was cringing whenever he opened his mouth!

Then James ringing up Ali on mobile - WHY DID ALI ANSWER? that was plain rude. Think couple from Nel's dead embarassed. They obv felt sorry for Ali (who doesn't have a clue - but it's not helped when James totally leaves him out of all decision making - the overspend on food was stunning).

And as for the snuff! But to be fair to them, they did really enter into the spirit of things - they're just a bit young and niaive in my opinion.
Don't think either of the "saved" couples will last long.

One comment tho - Arriet & Dad's exit was blamed on Dad's doing it for Arriet not for himself. Think it should have been blamed on Dad's rudeness/arrogance/complete crapness at front of house.

Bucharest · 26/09/2008 09:05

Am so so glad that Arriet's Awful Dad has gone! I s'pose he'll just buy her one now, will he?

fullmoonfiend · 26/09/2008 09:07

I'd love to know exactly what business 'Arriet's dad is in...it's hard to imagine him succeeding in anything, he is so defensive, arrogant, ignorant and rude!
Poor wee lass, do you think she will ever forgive him?
Ad do we imagine that childhod friends ali and james will remain friends?

MaryAnnSingleton · 26/09/2008 09:10

Arriet's dad - charmless and rude - so no, can't think what business he could be in ?!

wannaBe · 26/09/2008 09:13

blackduck you mean james? Alistair is the one doing front of house and James is the chef.

I do think that Alistair doesn't have a clue, but I like him - don't know why.

MaryAnnSingleton · 26/09/2008 09:15

he'll snap one day and deck the control freak that is James

MaryAnnSingleton · 26/09/2008 09:21

on the website it says that Arriet's dad (57) runs 2 recruitment businesses ( so he works with people !?!) and that Arriet is his only child and they are very close.

Blackduck · 26/09/2008 09:23

whoops - sorry meant the other way round....(hangs head)
You do think with ALi and James it probably is the end of a beautiful friendship....

On snuff thing I didn't really get why they had a go? These are adults (over 18) - they drink for gods sake, they didn't HAVE to try the snuff....

wannaBe · 26/09/2008 09:28

you've gotta wonder, if James has worked as a chef in the past and it is his passion, why is he now working as a bouncer?

And if James and Ali ran a pub together and brought it up from failing to success, why are they no longer working together running said successful pub?

Blackduck · 26/09/2008 09:30

James as a bouncer
