Oh GOD YES IT IS MARVELLOUS. It really is - buy it buy it buy it. Best thing ever.

S1ur · 31/08/2008 22:23

ok. So fairly good then

Oh, yes. And Aitch loves it too, and she's a Professional TV Watcher.

policywonk · 31/08/2008 22:34

DP is trying to download three series from a BitTorrent site at the moment. I keep making him turn it off because of my MN habit.

Anyway he says it's tops, and he hardly watches any telly at all.

S1ur · 31/08/2008 22:35

well, there's at least three mners whose judgement I'd trust.

Have never worked out Torrent stuff. It's super-good, pw, haven't you watched it? It's clever clever thoughtful tv at its best.

you trust my judgement?

undercovercat · 31/08/2008 22:37

is it on any of the catch up channels. itc catch up bbc i player or whatever. save you buying it. and you could watch now

Habbibu · 31/08/2008 22:39

Nooo - it's on a satellite channel, cat. But is really worth buying, as it merits rewatching.

policywonk · 31/08/2008 22:40

Oh thanks slur, I will. ATM it is saying the download will be completed in 1y 232d 12h 36s.

I do mean to give it a go H - DP is already a couple of series in so there's no point trying to jump in in the middle, I'm guessing.

Undercover - series 1 was on Virgin On Demand for a bit, that's how DP got addicted.

combustiblelemon · 31/08/2008 22:41

It's £14.99 per series (for 1,2 and 3) on amazon at the moment.

S1ur · 31/08/2008 22:43

No probs PW - he should also get ra pget while he's at it, way of doing lots at once.

Hab - of course.

Habbibu · 31/08/2008 22:43

No, it is as well to start at the beginning. You really do have to watch it carefully - it really doesn't patronise the viewer! Another good one, though not in the same league, is Spiral - French series called Engrengages which was on BBC4 and I think there will be a new series.

S1ur · 31/08/2008 22:44

Combust - ebay is cheaper

combustiblelemon · 31/08/2008 22:46

Don't say that Slur . I ordered it last night.

Anifrangapani · 31/08/2008 23:02

I have just joine MN to say The Wire is the best program I have ever seen. Season 5 is out on 22/9 btw

policywonk · 31/08/2008 23:06

Welcome Ani

I hope you're ready to fight for your right to spell it 'program'

luckylady74 · 31/08/2008 23:09

It took me 2 episodes to convert and then I had to watch it every day - all consuming.

Anifrangapani · 31/08/2008 23:10

Absolutely - if it can be spelt wrong I will. My life is too short to worry when I have a spell checker for things where I need to look intelligent.

policywonk · 31/08/2008 23:12

Sorry, thought you were going to say that you're an American...

Anifrangapani · 31/08/2008 23:14

No Australian but living in the UK. I just went to a hippy dippy school where spelling was just above basket weaving on the school agenda.

S1ur · 01/09/2008 00:49

Ack Anifrangi - don't fret about excuses, programme vs program is up there with practise vs practice.

Thank you for your input.

And blaming the hippies is nearly always a good plan.

I've sky plussed the last series so far and was wondering if I should force my dh to watch it. Thanks one and all.
