Big Brother - the last lap

I'm starting a new thread because the other one's a bit full now (and seems to have gone dead as well).

Considering how much time Rex spent bigging My Girlfriend up before she even came into the nouse, telling us she was a princess, etc, surely the least he can do is be loyal to her now. But here he is apportioning blame for bad feeling between them and Kat and Mo, when Mo was in jail. My Girlfriend, needless to say, wasn't present:-

"Nicole said, 'Why do we have to have a campaign for Mo today' blah blah blah. But anyway, you know. Nicole's only bringing problems to this house. For me, anyway. You know, she's obviously not grown up enough to be here. What she has to understand, what she doesn't understand, she says, 'I can't stand being around theeese people', What you have to understand is that in here that's the whole point of being here, that you're around people that you wouldn't normally socialise with. And I understand that more than anyone, you know. I'm not similar to anyone here. I'm not similar to Nicole either."

Great. Short of saying "Get Nicole out", what more could he do to make his wishes clear? My Girlfriend has become My Burden.

Not been watching very much but, honestly, I can't stand a single one of them! They're all dull, unpleasant or completely and obviously fake.

Except for, maybe, Lisa - she's just the right side of bonkers.

Do any of you really like any of them i.e would be able to spend more than 20 mins in their company??

OMG Darnell is so nasty to Sarah. After moaning all through the show about him being bullied and saying people always commenting on him and the way he looks and hes sitting being so openly nasty to Sarah to her face and behind her back. Its true bullies are cowards.

Tillyboo · 26/08/2008 23:21

I think Sarah has genuinely found it difficult to make friends with the girls in the house, she's one of those people who feels more comfortable with men but it's backfired.

I have thought she's been a tease during her stay but I do think her behaviour is in all innocence and she's got way out of her depth at times - especially underestimating Darnells feelings. That's why he's being so horrid to her, he feels hurt and a bit humiliated like a dumped boyfriend and the only line of defense is to attack her.

It's a shame because she seems a really nice girl.

Darnell has some serious issues to the point of being a bit unhinged.

I very nearly got out of bed to come downstairs and post on this thread last night.

Why has Darnell not been ejected from the programme? What horrendous behaviour! What gives him the right to call someone a "bitch" and a "slut" to her face and get away with it?

Isn't this sexist bullying the equivalent of all that racist bullying that got Jade goody into so much trouble? And, by the way, why is no one else sticking up for her?

Report
squeaver · 27/08/2008 07:41

Yes Tilly - serious issues.

Just watched the re-run of last nights programme. Darnell and Rex are obnoxious. Rex cant leave anything alone....he used to be my favourite.

Agree with the earlier post - how come Darnell and Rex have not been warned about their verbal bullying?

Will be glad to see the back of the lot of them - this years BB has been as bad as the miserable sodding 'Summer'

Report
Jbck · 27/08/2008 10:01

Rex was warned about his behaviour towards Sara but not Darnell apparently and he was worse,at least Rex apologised. I used to really like Darnell but I think last night was the end for me & him

BB site explains what's happening tonight but doesn't say if anyone will actually be evicted. Person who wins £50K is still eligible to win so maybe the loser will be evicted. I was going to have an early night tonight, bang goes that idea!

I have tickets to be in the studio tonight for the live task, would love the chance to be able to tell Rex and Darnell what I think of them, but doubt there will be an eviction

Does look good tonight!!

Taken from more mag

"Well, we wondered what on earth was going on with nominations and now we know. And it was worth the wait.

Davina will present a live show tonight, and at 11pm, the housemates will have to nominate? in front of each other. Talk about being put on the spot.

Not only that, but the two who do get put up for eviction will have a head-to-head to win £50,000. We knew they?d stick in a cash prize before the series was out. This doesn't affect the £100k final prize money, but it might affect the housemates.

The guys must know something?s up as they were asked to vote for the Head Of House this week and not for eviction, but there?s no way they?re prepared for this. Ooh we're excited."

Never mind an eviction or a warning, Darnell should be removed from the programme.

Why hasn't there been a MAJOR fuss about his behaviour?

Report
Pinkjenny · 27/08/2008 11:52

squeaver - completely agree. He is bullying Sara - why can no one see it!!!! Just because she's not quivering in the corner??

Report
luckymummy74 · 27/08/2008 11:59

I totally agree with you all about Darnell, Sara took it so well, really, I would have flipped. I'm suprised she hasn't been more upset by the things Rex and Darnell have said to her and I can't believe BB haven't spoken to them.

It has made me warm to Sara a bit, although that voice is still HORRENDOUS!!!

Is it wrong that I am soooo excited about tonight's show!!!

Report
Leeldodgy · 27/08/2008 12:03

I really want Darnell out. He's a misogynistic bastard. I totally agree PinkJenny and can't understand why he hasn't been kicked out or at least warned about his behaviour. I think there is actually something mentally wrong with him.

Report
Pinkjenny · 27/08/2008 12:35

I just don't understand him. He's obviously aware of his behaviour and how much he has changed in the house. It's like he's pressed self destruct and just can't help himself.

I have watched it, but I really don't care who wins.

squeaver · 27/08/2008 12:46

I SO didn't want to get drawn into it this year (in fact dh still doesn't know I've been watching - we made a pact!) and especially as they've been such an uninteresting, uninspiring and unpleasant bunch of freaks.

But this Sara/Darnell thing has really got my goat. She is annoying but I agree she handled it well.

Btw Pinkjenny I love your name. A friend of mine used to have a nanny with pink hair and all the kids called her "Pink Jenny".

Report
Pinkjenny · 27/08/2008 12:51

Thx squeaver, however I can assure you that I do not have pink hair.

Darnell's behaviour towards Sara is unacceptable and tiresome to watch.

The housemates have invested a lot of time in befriending, supporting and praising him but he seems to luxuriate in 'rejection'. All created by himself.

I think Sara has a chance to win.

Report
RoxyNotFoxy · 27/08/2008 16:11

I don't think Sara can win. If a female wins, it's going to be Rachel. But I do think she could get in the last 4. And that would be quite an achievement, considering how late she came in, and what a bad start she made, and how her voice seems to get on everyone's nerves (but not on mine).

Every Saturday Digital Spy start a new poll -" Who is your favourite?". The latest one shows these percentages.

Rachel 31.8%
Rex 19.7%
Lisa 11.7
Sara 11.2
Darnell 9.3
Mikey 8.5
Mo 4.4
Kat 3.5

And Thisisbigbrother.com has a "favourite" poll, also started on Saturday, and it's pretty similar, except Rex is 4th behind Sara, not 2nd as in the DigSpy poll. But, considering Darnell's behaviour since Saturday, we can guess that he's slipped a fair bit below what these polls show. In reality he's probably one of the bottom two.

I should also say that close to 2000 people have voted in each of those polls. So they are probably as good an indicator of public opinion as you can find.
