Olympic Opening Ceremony on BBC1 NOW........for four hours!!

Mixed feelings about the Olympics being in China but I am strangely fascinated by the opening ceremony - it's on live now for 4 horus [stifles yawn] and then highlights at 7pm.

I am going to start a campaign now: Kate & Gin to open the London Olympics.

Drummers were fab. I am in Shanghai and it is like 28 Days Later outside - every single person is at home or in a bar watching it.

Anyone else think the bagpipes are a bit odd

Well, as long as they don't think we're copying them with the bagpipes in 2012! Wemust have bagpipes!

I watched it with the dds and have to admit it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, especially all the drummers at the beginning. Then I thought - the London organisers must be shitting themselves Could have done without all the wittering by Huw and co though...

I loved loved loved the flame lighting!! The way he moved around the stadium... was amazing!! How the hell are we going to top this???? I bet they get Gok on board with a flash mob of 1000s of women wanting to look good nekkid and streaking around the stadium to prove their confidence a la Olympic athletes!!

London 2012 probably are shitting themselves. i think they should do something really simple as we won;t have all that dosh and employ britain's best film director to choreograph it ... maybe ridley scott

I bet we go down the military route with marching displays etc...I mean we don't even have a national costume....unless you count burberry clad 'yoofs' in tracky bottoms slouching along slurring was'suup...
