If so you might be interested in watching his latest musical offering. Dr Horrible's sing-a-long Blog will be posted in three parts, on the 15,16,17 of this month on the website drhorrible.com/. It will only be up until Sunday night though, so catch it whilst it's there. It looks really good (there's a trailer on the site atm) and it stars the rather wonderful Nathan Fillion

Watch it and make Joss happy!

Nope, def not Pui

RubberDuck · 20/07/2008 10:57

No, Maurissa someone. Think I've seen her in something else before though... looked on imdb and couldn't spot anything I would have known her from though.

First 2 acts of lyrics are here

Act 3 lyrics

Flamesparrow · 20/07/2008 11:16

I think i love you!

Flamesparrow · 20/07/2008 11:17

"Everyone's a hero in their own way.
Everyone's got villains they must face.
They're not as cool as mine,
But folks you know it's fine
To know your place.

Everyone's a hero in their own way,
In their own not-that-heroic way"

amazing!

RubberDuck · 20/07/2008 11:56

Am currently humming "Bad Horse"

God must get a grip and sort the washing out or something.

LAUNDRY! "With my freeze ray I will... STOP..."

Flamesparrow · 20/07/2008 12:06

It's hi ho silver! signed bad horse

fanella · 20/07/2008 13:02

Oh! Just watched act 3.

Joss Whedon is amazing.

Flamesparrow - what's the significance of him being in white all along?

.

wintera - thanks for that other link - I watched all three acts through that as I couldn't play them on the main site.

meridian · 20/07/2008 13:52

really must spend time with DS instead of reading and laughing at the lyrics... it was a brilliant project... I hope that JW's new show Dollshouse in the fall is half as good as this has been..

It?s a brand new day
And the sun is high
All the birds are singing
That you?re gonna die

RubberDuck · 20/07/2008 14:58

I am a terrible parent. I let my 4 and 7 year old watch it.

They loved it

So it'll be all my fault if they start chanting the "the hammer is my penis" line...

wintera · 20/07/2008 16:09

Absolutely loved it all! Joss is the greatest writer ever! My favourite lines from act III were -

CAPTAIN HAMMER
This is so nice.
I just might sleep with the same girl twice.
They say it's better the second time.
They say you get to do the weird stuff.

FANS: We do the weird stuff!

And also -

Don't worry if it's hard.
If you're not a friggin' tard
You will prevail!

Excellent!!!!

I got the box set of Firefly last year and am currently watching it again so am definitely on a Joss Whedon high at the moment. Although sometimes I do think he has ruined my tv watching life as nothing ever compares to the stuff that he does. I still miss Buffy like mad! A new tv show will start and I think "maybe this will be something that I can really become obsessed with" but its just not the same!

The only tv shows I have really liked recently are Life on Mars, Ashes to ashes and Torchwood.

And my worst tv experience recently was Bonekickers. Absolutely bloody awful that was!

Flamesparrow · 20/07/2008 16:48

Good guys wear white, bad guys wear black - Dr Horrible was in white, and Captain Hammer in black, therefore DH was a good guy and CH not. BUT by the end he was wearing red and black, showing he was on the dark side proper

RubberDuck · 20/07/2008 16:53

Plus symbolising the bloodshed Also pulling the goggles over his eyes to hide his tears, I think?

Interesting discussion on the official message boards where someone commented that Captain Hammer really did send Dr Horrible off to his own personal hell by pulling the trigger. The last sequence does feel very hellish.

Flamesparrow · 20/07/2008 16:56

it is just so sad

TinkerBellesMum · 20/07/2008 18:30

BTW, I saw someone mention the amount of Whedons involved and I've found out why. It was done during the strike (is it still going?) so he had to pull together everyone he could that wouldn't be affected by it.

fanella · 21/07/2008 11:35

Ah! It makes sense!

It was very sad, but very Joss.

Reminded me of the killing off of Tara - thus turning Willow into mad vengenace seeking uber-powerful dark witch.

And after Tara's whole wonderful "can we just skip it" speech.

Damn I want to watch that again now. I want my Buffy collection back!

Cappuccino · 21/07/2008 13:57

oh that was good

embarrassingly I did need 'the hammer is my penis' clarifying

in my defence I was very tired and very innocent

serenity · 23/07/2008 14:30

Slightly offtopic, but still Whedon, there's a trailer for Dollhouse on Digital Spy atm

Looks very good! Can anyone tell me if the guy in a suit, lurking around the dark basement/house is Jayne/Adam Baldwin? I keep watching, and he moves like him but I just can't see well enough to be sure.

Dollhouse trailer

wintera · 23/07/2008 21:07

I don't think it is Adam Baldwin. I think its this guy -

www.imdb.com/name/nm0671886/

He is on the main cast photo featured on imdb. Hope thats of some help to you!

meridian · 24/07/2008 12:54

dollhouse looks very good.... such a long time to wait though..
