Sorry for the delay - internet went down just as I clicked create conversation....

OP posts:

I watched the Pompeii thing again last night

That wasn't a high point, was it?

prettybird · 16/07/2008 11:49

I've done a brief skim (was on holiday last week - left for the aiprot after watching the last episode - just as we did last year) and don't think anyone has suggested that "companion who will die" was actually Jack. He was killed - it's just he keeps on coming back to life.

... and you could clasiffy his as "the most faithful compamion": after all, he stays loyal for over 5 billion years!

ReallyReally · 16/07/2008 11:50

Caan was still blathering on about 'one will die' after Jack had got up though and run around in his coat a bit

prettybird · 16/07/2008 12:10

Haven't had a chance to watch it again as we were away for the repeats (memo to self: must watch it on i-player before Friday)

TinkerBellesMum · 16/07/2008 15:26

I'm enjoying the blog, haven't caught up yet though. The biggest problem I have with it all is the Americanisms, even with the explanation clone_doctor gave and the maps are all America when they're supposed to be in London. The Doctor is slightly pathetic though, in a sad puppy way, not sure how in character that is

I find it hysterical reading the comments, people are really getting into it.

KayHarker · 16/07/2008 15:42

I quite like the Pompeii episode. I thought there were some very interesting seeds of Donna's fate in it - her pleading for him to 'save someone' does rather lead neatly into his decision to not just let her die in the finale.

The blog comments are very funny. I kind of want to believe that they're just playing ablong, but some of the advice is so full on, you do have to wonder...

TinkerBellesMum · 16/07/2008 15:48

Who do we think is writing it? Is it a lot of work for a fan to be doing? Will be interesting to see how long they can keep it up, it's a whole life to think about, not just a story or episode.

I would like to point out, I am NOT Narcissistic, I am really that good.

KayHarker · 16/07/2008 17:23

I think this was his best so far.

TinkerBellesMum · 16/07/2008 17:38

Yes. Loved the bits about the Weevils!

KayHarker · 16/07/2008 22:56

Second bit of my newer story is up. Prepare for dodgy science cobblers.

KayHarker · 16/07/2008 22:58

actually, that was this thread, which certainly contains dodgy science. But if you did want the story, it's here.

[idiot]

ReallyReally · 17/07/2008 09:58

god Kay, that's good. That's very good indeed

I love your dodgy science. It's brilliant.

ReallyReally · 17/07/2008 10:00

again, that blogging doctor isn't working for me

we really think that after however many hundreds of years of life, he is going to start learning lessons about biscuits?

KayHarker · 17/07/2008 10:42

I think it's at least plausible he's going to start learning about the dynamics of shared biscuits. I was amused by the arrest and escape more than anything else.

But he can't quite decide on a format to stick to. Sometimes it reads like a fic, sometimes much more like a real blog. And yes, he's not really got the voice right. I'm not at all able to suspend disbelief and imagine I really am reading the Doctor. Shame, it's a fun idea.

(thanks for your kind words about the dodgy science. I'm afraid I am rather flying blind when it comes to growing TARDISes!)

ReallyReally · 17/07/2008 10:46

I thought you had done lengthy research

ReallyReally · 17/07/2008 10:47

I am so looking forward to watching the Oods again. I got 10 mins last night to watch Confidential

I did like the Oods

UnquietDad · 17/07/2008 10:48

RR - DW pedant hat on - I think they are "Ood". Like deer and sheep.

ReallyReally · 17/07/2008 10:51

Oh thanks UQD, I stand corrected

what are baby Ood called then?

UnquietDad · 17/07/2008 11:07

No idea! Oodlings?

ReallyReally · 17/07/2008 11:11

not bad

however sheep = lambs and deer = fawns

we're looking for a whole new word I think

I'm going with spawb

KayHarker · 17/07/2008 11:27

oodlets

The only thing I'm vaguely aware of with growing TARDISes is that it takes decades. Not sure where I know that from, though. And I'm conveniently ignoring it because my characters don't have 50 years to wait.

what kind of a crappy present to a bloke in his late 30s is a bit of something that takes 50 years to grow?

was Doctor 10 rubbing it in, or what?
