No way do Michael and Blunty deserve to win, they’ve been useless. Michael has only just woken up!

Or he's been quiet so he won't be murdered.

I haven't particularly warmed to Michael or James either. I was expecting to like James more than I have done, based on his Twitter persona.

I am rooting for a Maya/Kenny win, but I think it's unlikely. Of the remaining Faithfuls, Romesh is the only one I would like to see win, but he'd have to win with someone else so my preference would be Leigh Ann.

I think Maya's only hope is:

  • Murder Michael
  • Form a very careful plan with Kenny about who they'll target in what order, and vote as a block from now until the bitter end. I think they have to get rid of James first, he's the riskiest. Then Bash or Romesh. And they have to hope there's enough disagreement among the Faithful that they split their votes and the Maya/Kenny voting block wins through.

It'll come down to whether Kenny can do that without attracting too much suspicion on himself, and what the level of heat on Maya is. He'd be better off going it alone, really.

The first Celebrity Traitors was amazing, with Alan Carr's astonishing and hilarious win. I was prepared for this series to not be quite as good but I'd say it's been a huge disappointment. While REG's brain fart at the beginning was a major talking point, it kind of sabotaged the series right from the start. With the gift of hindsight, it's clear that James A should never have gone on the show, I'm not the only one to have noticed how out of sorts he looked in last night's episode. Due to my adherence to the sunk cost fallacy, I'll watch tonight's episode but I really couldn't care less who wins.

Macinae · Yesterday 10:11

Didn't Bash say something to maybe Romesh along the lines of voting Michael out? Where was that at the RT lastnight? He didn't say anything. Did he plan to but then the James A thing happened before he could?

Stowickthevast · Yesterday 10:15

I've still enjoyed this series even though it's been very different from the previous one. I think what makes the game interesting is how it plays out differently each time.

I feel bad for James A and think it's clear production stepped in and stopped the RT, then told him to record the confessional part. I don't think he's ruined the game or thrown Maya under a bus, if anything he has brought her one more night. Michael already suspected Maya and her defence felt far too rehearsed. I remember seeing somewhere, someone saying that Faithful get upset and tearful when they're accused but Traitors never do, which I thought of watching Maya last night.

I think Romesh and Bash could win it if neither of them are murdered tonight. Kenny still has a chance too but Maya must be a goner.

OccasionalHope · Yesterday 10:19

They’re pretty sure now Maya is a traitor, so will they not think why would two traitors give the dagger to a faithful?

I think they will now get all the traitors out when it really didn’t look like that would happen last week.

Sharon was so on the ball. Joanne quite the opposite but it made for good TV when she found out.

The dagger thing is a very good point!

Wheresthebeach · Yesterday 10:29

I'm guessing the Production Team will be having some interesting meetings when looking at next season and how they recruit celebs. That's two traitors outing themselves. Not a good look although it was a shock so I guess good telly.

I think Maya is a bit dull...but that may be because her facial expressions are non-existent. I don't like Bash...again a bit dull. James B is fun, and Michael is just doing the 'bigger than life' thing quite well. I'd either like Kenny to win or Blunty and Michael but I think it's unlikely. Rom will turn on Michael as he's already voted for him. I'm surprised that Rom hasn't got more heat as being an influential person.

Ohh...good point about that. Wonder if they'll twig? Also Maya said something like 'here's to the murdering' at breakfast which seems to have never been mentioned. I think she went over the top with her defence.

Just place marking fot tonight.

Checking in for the final, how has that come round so quickly?!

Eesha · Yesterday 11:12

I still really like Michael for his exceptional acting and how he paid off all those debts for people in Wales. Loved how he went in yesterday!

harriethoyle · Yesterday 11:15

The dagger point is a REALLY good one that I hadn't considered.

I think Michael’s been around long enough in tv (and these days is presenting, too) to be thinking ‘Shit, is this being a bit of a dud season?’ and trying to liven it up somewhat (rather belatedly)

And also, Sharon vouched for Romesh being a Faithful because of his sniffing beside her during the blindfold task. She could have been a traitor covering up for a fellow-traitor, but now it’s known she wasn’t, Romesh is obviously a Faithful.

Not just massively at risk. JA gave the game away. Michael gave his theory of the people in the library, all now gone except Maya, JA and KK. JA said yes that's right. Maya looked hugely pissed off (I would be too), and no one could bring themselves to talk to her. Michael is obviously faithful, Maya and KK traitors. Who could argue with it?

Yes but he said it was right and he was there, so it can all be blamed on him. There’s no requirement for another traitor to have been there in the room.

I massively disagree with the PP who said Michael deserves to win! I found him intensely annoying last night, coming out of the round table going on about how suddenly he’d had an epiphany “why have I overlooked James, it must be James”. No Michael, Sharon brought up the perfume bottles, you questioned Maya and James, and James told you it was him.

I don’t think the traitors have been good this year at all. Maya has zero strategy. They’ll murder someone now with no thought to who they’ll then work to get banished.

AlwaysExtraHot · Yesterday 11:31

Macinae · Yesterday 10:22

The dagger thing is a very good point!

But they could always say, 'A traitor might give a faithful the dagger to confuse people. And a faithful could easily use their double vote to vote out the wrong person – as indeed Kenny did.'

jumpintheline · Yesterday 11:31

JessicaGoodman · Yesterday 09:43

I don’t think the Producers would influence or steer the contestants thinking but they will control the narrative of the edit to make the show as dramatic as possible. I suspect Maya and James A (and maybe Kenny) and the library theory had been mentioned for a while, but they didn’t include those comments in the edit so it’s more dramatic when the Faithfuls seemed to suddenly cotton on. It makes for better TV.

Agreed.

Nah, Maya was fighting hard that the library theory wasn’t a definite. James basically confirmed that Michael was right about it, throwing Maya under the bus in the process which was unnecessary. James should never have pleaded to become a traitor and let Amol have it.

Figgygal · Yesterday 11:34

How have they gone from where they were on the last episode with zero clue to having rumbled it all basically
Maya will be banished
Kenny might manage it but feels unlikely

Yes.. but as we know, the traitors didn’t all have to move during that task. Romesh in a corner, quite tall so probably not light on this feet, sniffing away, could easily have chosen to stay put because moving would have been obvious.

They’ve all also apparently forgotten Miranda’s thing about floorboards moving, which they now know wasn’t Joanne.

I wonder if someone more intelligent like Romesh will be thinking (but realise he can’t say out loud) that at least one of the traitors is a bit… dim. Taking Maya’s shield pieces and chucking them in the middle during that blindfold task? James Blunt wouldn’t have done that, for example, because whatever his faults, he’d have got that traitor shield built and won the money.

I was called ableist a number of times yesterday on the other thread for saying James A should either never have been cast or opted for being murdered.

I agree with aspects of this but I’m still enjoying it. There have been some really funny and entertaining moments along the way - Joanne, Romesh, Jerry, Miranda stand out.

I disagree. A faithful could easily also have put across the same defence “you don’t know it was even in the library, he was in other places”. It’s a reasonable defence.

Personally I’d have gone even harder than she did “you’re very very keen for us to focus on the library Michael, almost like you don’t want anyone looking at the time he was with you”.
