Poor Amy could have given her someone decent to dance with!
Jaime spoke like she was on something, not got the likeable factor
I love a musical but would never go to Matilda! That was awful.

It's just performative though, I just asked my brother in law who is deaf what he thinks and he agreed! Gosh making out i'm disablist or something, I'm not!

But lots of Deaf people just use signing to write off an entire language just because the Deaf person YOU happen to have experience of doesn’t is prejudice

I’d like to draw a line here as this toxicity isn’t what the thread is for.

The signing thank you is lovely. One of our regulars, Wilf's mum, always talked about how inclusive it made her son feel. I think representation is important and a small gesture doesn't need to be derided. Gio used to be OTT with it but for many of them it's just a small but welcome show of appreciation, that means a lot to many. I don't think they're virtue signalling or attention-seeking. I think it's a natural gesture now, as it should be.
Peace and love 🄰

I think the results show made it clear how much better Emma would be on her own for the main show. I was also expecting Melanie in the dance off - older women celebs do not usually fare well if they falter at the early stages.

the80sweregreat · 04/10/2026 20:15

Emma is faultless isn’t she. She is very experienced and natural and it shows.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 04/10/2026 20:17

Well that Lights Up was drivel won’t be bothering again, thought hanging around waiting to pounce on the crying eliminated person was poor taste.

Tonight underwhelmed me.

I didn’t like the pro dance normally I love them and Matilda was dreadful.

it’s just not got its groove on this year and I’ve watched since the first series …it feels lack lustre.

Matilda was terrible just the most dreary performance ever.

Quite liked the rest of it. I've deffo warmed to JJ.

FeltCarrot · 04/10/2026 20:22

Harry Judd’s daughter is in Matilda. I wonder if she was one of the girls on tonight.

StarDolphins · 04/10/2026 20:23

Why does Delta get high votes, she’s been performing for years

I’m so sad to lose Amy, but I hope this sends a message to the producers that a bloke who cuts the hair of famous people is not in any way a ā€˜celebrity’. He was always going to be one of the first to go because 95% of people watching wouldn’t have had a clue who he was.

I think the Beeb were rather optimistically hoping that a few of his celeb. clientele would rock up to watch.

As if.

SpottyAlpaca · 04/10/2026 20:23

I’m starting to feel a bit sorry for Josh. It’s painfully obvious that it hasn’t worked. He’s a spare part. He knows he is, and so does everyone else. It must seem like a long time until the end of the season when he can walk away with dignity.

FoxtrotPapa · 04/10/2026 20:26

Amy is probably the least talented choreographer and it shows, that’s why her partners get voted out early doors. She basically danced around Chris and it looked very dated. They let Michelle go instead of her.

SunsetDrifter · 04/10/2026 20:26

I'm still finding the presenting uncomfortable to watch josh and jojo, the "my darling" thing from jojo is very annoying, I'm sure Josh would be funny if he wasn't reading an autocue someone else has written for him to say. He worked better sat upstairs just chatting then I thought he could be himself, rather than doing the presenting. I will persevere with it for now...

Indigovelvet · 04/10/2026 20:28

I'd like Josh to get a chance to present a section on his own. So he can get a chance to get in his groove.

Umbilicat · 04/10/2026 20:31

Matilda is a fabulous musical but that is by far the worst song. Terrible choice

ScaredButUnavoidable · 04/10/2026 20:35

I had to miss the Results show as I got caught up with something with my children but from reading these comments it sounds like I haven’t missed much in terms of entertainment value.

I spent all day avoiding the Strictly Spoiler (or any online spoilers) as I wanted to hold out for the live show (once I realised there was no spoiler posted this morning on the Spoiler thread) but I might save
myself the hassle next week as it doesn’t seem like the Live Show is worth waiting for 😬

I’m surprised about Jaime….. I imagine it’s because she’s not that well known compared to other celebrities? I really enjoyed her dance though so I hope it doesn’t dent her confidence too much šŸ¤ž

2Rebecca · 04/10/2026 20:40

We watched on catch up which is definitely the way to watch the far too long results show. I used to like Tim Minchin but high pitched kids singing is awful unless you are their mum and why so many Matildas?

TennisWithDeborah · 04/10/2026 20:40

I missed it too but I probably won’t bother with iplayer. I feel for Amy, first boot again.

I agree with you but for some reason she appears to be something of a Teachers Pet behind the scenes

I think at that age they have to have the role rotated nightly so each kid only does a couple of shows a week and they probably didn't want to pick one ahead of the others so used all the girls who are currently sharing the part.

I agree. Michelle was a loss. It was also notable that JB did much better under Lauren.

ilovesooty · 04/10/2026 20:56

I also think it was ungracious of Amy to point out that she'd been eliminated early twice running. She was effectively saying "Look at the rubbish partners you've given me." Chris wasn't very good but he did his best and that seemed a bit disrespectful to me.

Yes it was childish and unprofessional

Laurence being paired with Jowita is setting them both up to fail, the height difference is just too much
