Harry Judd’s daughter is in Matilda. I wonder if she was one of the girls on tonight.

I wondered this too but her name is Lola and I don't think they mentioned a Lola when they said their names?

ilovebrie8 · 04/10/2026 21:05

Am not an Amy fan, her choreography is dull. She’s does seem to be a bit of a teachers pet but time for her to go me thinks.

ChapmanFarm · 04/10/2026 21:07

While Chris was poor, I think if I was Amy I'd feel a bit stitched up.

Couples choice shouldn't be allowed when voting is across two weeks. It's a massive advantage.

They got a tango and then a cha cha. Which for a non musical novice is a big ask. The count is hard and the feet do totally different things. And then they gave him a song to dance to without an easily countable beat that didn't match the style (and a shit costume).

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 04/10/2026 21:09

You make good points @ChapmanFarm and I appreciate your username

It's just performative though, I just asked my brother in law who is deaf what he thinks and he agreed! Gosh making out i'm disablist or something, I'm not!

Yes you are.

Mokel · 04/10/2026 21:16

I think Amy might call it a day for Strictly unless she is guaranteed a Karim type ringer next year.

augustusglupe · 04/10/2026 21:27

I'd like Josh to get a chance to present a section on his own. So he can get a chance to get in his groove.

Same, but JoJo isn’t going to back down is he?
He’s so full of himself and turning his back on Josh upstairs was just bloody rude.
Josh made me laugh a few times tonight.
Him and Emma are very good at what they do individually.
In the judges segment upstairs Johannes totally took over. I’m sick of all the fawning and dahhhling šŸ™„
Theyre going to keep pushing him forward, he’s sadly not going anywhere, not even back on the dancefloor it seems šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

Anjo2011 · 04/10/2026 21:29

Shame for Amy but I don’t think shes a great teacher tbh. Jaime was definitely the better of the two but there’s something about her I can’t warm to. I know it’s been said many times but the Saturday shows are just too long at the start of the series.

dapsnotplimsolls · 04/10/2026 21:29

Josh should have done the chatting to contestants on his own - I think he'd have shown what he can do. Why does JoJo get to do that bit and the judges bit??

LaMarschallin · 04/10/2026 21:32

I thought Jojo was getting a bit full of himself when he described Emma and Josh as "my two co-stars".
I thought the celebrities were the stars and those three were the presenters.

I think it’s an anniversary

They said celebrating either ten or fifteen years in the West End (can’t remember which).
Surprised at the Matilda negativity on here; I thought it was a triumph. But I saw it ages ago when Bertie Carvel was Miss Trunchbull, and he was superb. Maybe it’s gone downhill.

We didn’t see Miss Trunchbull just various squeaky Matildas singing one song in turn.
I think a PP said it's the worst song of the show, so maybe a bad choice?

autumngirl714 · 04/10/2026 22:02

I’m sad Chris and Amy went tonight. I was looking forward to Chris when he was announced, our after his first week it was clear that he wasn’t going to in it for the long run, but hopefully longer then he did stay.
i imagine he’ll be devastated about going so early, o hope he’s ok!

I do like Amy and I want her to do well especially after everything she’s been through. But I don’t think she’s an all rounder. She’s abit too sweet and happy (and nothing wrong with being sweet and happy!!) for the likes of the rumba or AT etc. I wonder if she’ll decide to move on after this šŸ˜”.

He was one of the weakest dancers but gives a good account of himself and was a total non dancer going into the contest. I like Amy but find her dance routines are too often rather forgettable.

This! Plus I don’t think she’s a great teacher either, so never does very well. Hope they drop her as a pro with a partner next year.

pinkteddy · 04/10/2026 22:21

Lovemelovemycat · 04/10/2026 20:10

Jaime didn’t like that did she. I don’t think the voters like her much. Can’t see her lasting long.

I’m not surprised - she was really good. I felt for her.

MilkBreadToiletroll · 04/10/2026 23:16

Probably the right pick to see Chris go but he did come across well.

SequinsandSlippers · 05/10/2026 00:24

Amy was injured when partnered with JB, was given a duffer last year who refused to return for the final, this year she had someone who was a novice but looked okay: it was four things that screwed them...

  1. Baywatch theme. The music sucks.
  2. Not having a memorable dance either - had they had a jive to Hairspray or a he'd been the angel to Beauty School Drop Out or they'd had him blowdrying/dancing with hairbrushes or they'd let him do something romantic to Edward Scissorhands, he might have been safe (iirc Mark Ballas did a lovely ES routine. Kevin Clifton asked several times but was refused)
  3. Them giving Shaun a massive redemption arc and pimp slot. Not sure why. It's a great song but he wasn't as good as they made out.
  4. Gavin and Stacey very popular and wanting to make her mum proud saved Melanie.

Chris is no different to the blonde sportsmen who were early boots (possibly a bit worse) Tom was one, the swimmer. The other was Thor iirc.
Nice both but not memorable?

ILikeStrictly · 05/10/2026 01:28

Glad to see some posters saying they liked the Matilda bit. I usually drift off in the ā€˜star singer’ section but for me it was the best part of either show this weekend. I Tim Minchin’s harmony and the cello were interesting additions to the song. The girls’ voices sounded normal to me, perhaps it depends on what you’re used to.

I like having some of the judges dancing with the professionals: I hope to see Craig doing more next time.

Sithuni, Bonnie, Carla and Amelia. No Lola.

I’ve just watched that bit back. With subtitles.
No mention of the cellist.

Doing certain films or songs wins some viewers over. Sound of Music is an example of this

Some viewers voted for their favourite pro.

Some dances may get forgotten about especially if it’s after an amazing performance

These examples apply to all episodes

She just started in it a couple of weeks ago. I think this was the previous batch of Matildas who would have been in the show when the pro dances were filmed back in August/ September.

Didn't she do a really good AT/Tango (not sure which?) one year and surprised everyone?
I'm also not an Amy fan on the show but like her on other things she's done. She is definitely a trooper with all her health problems.

I really wish they'd stop with the stupid chin thank you thing!! Drives me mad!!

It the sign for thank you. They are acknowledging the deaf community

ithinkthereforeyouare · 05/10/2026 08:03

Chris was a fairly obvious choice to go he’s not that good (yet) compared to some of the others and not that well known to a lot of people. Also agree re Amy’s choreography.

I was talking more about the people who are saying they've never wanted to see it, they don't want to see it because the film was so good, they have seen it and didn't like it etc.
