Quick google suggets Tess and Claudia were paid around £150k each, which isn't huge money.

I'd be surprised if these three were not in this ballpark - Emma is clearly worth more, but they obviously have to pay them all the same.

Quick Google not accurate. They were on very high salaries.

What do you mean by that? There's absolutely no evidence he behaved in that way.

Yes, that's Google. The BBC does not reveal actual salaries..

No need to get personal.
It's perfectly possible to have a discussion.
I'm not going to stoop to that level, so I'm out.

ZappyDays · 28/09/2026 06:46

But that article says “BBC does not have to disclose the salaries of stars who are paid through production companies like BBC Studios” which includes strictly

MilkBreadToiletroll · 28/09/2026 07:26

Surely Emma would be on a high salary considering all her experience. She was an excellent choice: I haven't seen any criticism of her yet.

I am following rather than commenting but talk of the TV musical shows has got me thinking, do any of you remember the show I think that was BBC where it was normal people competing. They already had a dance specialism I think but the competition meant they had to do different dances each week. All Google comes up with is come dancing and I really don't think it was that! I am guessing it would have been late 90s, maybe early 00's.

Strictly Dance Fever? Graham Norton was host.

Zoe Ball was host of the one the two extra shows.

It would have been around 2005 as my eldest son (who was 4yo at the time) was enamoured by a couple called Cem and Gemma, and he sobbed when they got eliminated close to the end.

cordelia16 · 28/09/2026 07:38

Piggywaspushed · 26/09/2026 19:55

Oh right. It always bugs me what the show is that I remember. It had a Strictly like format but no slebs.

Possibly Strictly Dance Fever

Piggywaspushed · 28/09/2026 07:39

Yes, we sorted it about 8 pages ago! Thanks though!

Piggywaspushed · 26/09/2026 19:59

The one I am remembering definitley isn't. I watched that too!

This had formation dances and everything. And Lindy Hopping.

Strictly Dance Fever?

I think that was the presenters talking, haven’t heard the bbc say anything

i guess you can have chemistry and doesn’t mean you’ll present well together on a live show

it feels to me like sharing the downstairs role is overkill, with them taking turns

But in tv terms chemistry means precisely that: that your chemistry translates into you working well together. Zoe B said she didn’t pass a chemistry test.

JJ seems to have main character syndrome and is just tedious. All the rictus grinning and over enunciating is excruciating.

Have they ever got rid of a new presenter on a high profile show before? I can't recall, so think we're stuck with him until Christmas unfortunately.

I can’t see a shred of main character energy about Johannes’ performance Confused. I thought he was understandably nervous, but engaged with the contestants, and he was genuinely listening to them and encouraging them.

Well we're all just sharing opinions. Mine is he seems to have a massive ego, is very ott what with his daft outfit and look at me persona, he needs to tone it down and concentrate on improving his presenting skills.

He is ruining what is actually a really well produced, excellent show.

It's fine to say you don't like the flamboyant gay man! Not everyone has to, personally i like him his ego.and outfit.

Interesting how differently people perceive things. I don't see a massive ego, didn't think his outfit was daft and don't see a look at me persona. I think he's very warm towards the contestants.

Edited

Nothing to do with him being a flamboyant gay man? Indeed Rylan would be described as just that and would be perfect in the role.

JJ is a brilliant dancer but a shit presenter, we all know it just what will the producers do about it.

Exactly
I would be shocked if this was true
I cannot imagine the BBC would be held to ransom
I think Johannes is popular with viewers and the BBC wanted to capitalise on this and offered him the role , which he accepted
He gives the impression of someone who is eternally grateful for the opportunities he has been given in the UK.

But you think he has an ego which is just his personality as is his daft outfits, and that is due to him being a flamboyant gay man, like i said you don't have to like him.

Lampzade · 28/09/2026 09:12

They don’t have to remove Johannnes from the main show . He could still be part of the show but as was suggested earlier could be used as a roving reporter talking to the dancers backstage, talking to the family of the celebrities, cameraman , etc. He could also be used in the training rooms

Rylan did the hard graft before he presented a show alone . He was on This Morning and other shows where he learned the ropes
Johannes was thrown into the deep end

Rylan is like Emma, just a natural with presenting. He is charming, funny and enjoyable to watch. Watching JJ present is like watching a poor dancer thump about. You just want it to stop! He should most deffo be moved to the training rooms.

It’s such early days - literally one live show - so impossible to say which issues are insurmountable, and which ones are teething problems that will solve themselves as time goes on.

I really enjoyed Saturday’s show, and even though I liked Tess and Claudia and was sad to see them go, I can’t say I missed them either.
