That’s live but heavily scripted too, like Strictly. I’m not sure why everybody is so certain that Josh can ad lib - he doesn’t do live crowd work either. The Last Leg and Strictly are like oranges and fish paste.

I am glad it isn't just me making it up but it's so annoying I can't find it's name.

I think they only did one series which was a shame as it was nice to have a show with normal people in it. I am guessing it was way before the days of social media presence and content creators. A bit like how the first Big Brother was 'boring' to people (though the early series were the ones that were actually enjoyable as it wasn't just people seeking fame).
