Doesn’t Susan’s car seem a bit flimsy for a hit and run? I feel as though it would suffer a dent or broken windscreen. What we saw / heard seemed more solid. Or am I filling in the gaps with my own ideas there?

diddl · 20/10/2026 08:53

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/10/2026 21:15

Or who left early

Someone left just as Susan was arriving iirc.

I think 2 people are involved.

One did the hit & run & the other set Susan up without using her car.

SwirlyGates · 20/10/2026 09:41

I miss Andreas. I think he was disposed of too easily!

Good point.

Good point.

That's why I think it wasn't her car.

Plus, not sure of distances but how would someone get to her house, be waiting to run Elliot over & put the car back?

moto748e · 20/10/2026 12:46

But if it wasn't her car that ran him over, still someone went to the trouble of damaging the radiator grille and inserting a piece of material?

Yes because someone (I have my suspicions) hates her that much.

Yes, this was the thought I had. That rather than being the omnipotent protagonist, the alarmingly influential Crace firm could be being used, as a very effective tool.

NewAgeNewMe · 20/10/2026 20:03

Lots of famous people
going on the most famous is the killer…

My guess would be Elaine staged Susan's car & told the police she had seen it(?)

Of course that would mean that she saw the accident or was there not long after & was heartless enough to take advantage.

No idea who was driving the car though.

Or if Elliot did know who killed his GM or just suspected.
Someone must have thought he knew though!

NewAgeNewMe · 21/10/2026 16:50

Elaine is a good shout @diddl

Will be watching this Saturday nights episode, either tomorrow or Friday, as adult dcs & partners coming for weekend. It’s on too late for me anyway 😁

I forgot to say our sky box issues are resolved, except we can’t download bbc programs, but can record them! So weird. Thank goodness for iPlayer.

diddl · 21/10/2026 17:06

Elaine is a good shout
**
She strikes me as someone who hates Susan enough but it does also seem a bit convoluted & circumstance heavy!

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/10/2026 09:45

Will try to watch this afternoon.

NewAgeNewMe · 24/10/2026 17:29

Started watching. Under heated blanket. Mistake. Saw about 30 minutes. Fell asleep. Woke up all confused, in middle of final episode (about 10 minutes from the end) so now know who did, it without bits in between 🙈😁

will rewatch episode 5, at some point this week and rewatch episode 6 closer to next Saturday.

lottiegarbanzo · 24/10/2026 18:24

So my total swerve of a theory was that Charles Clover - CC same initials as Cedric Chalfont in Corfu - and Elaine could have set Susan up from the start.

Charles C is the one person we already know is a murderer. So capable. He was present at Marble Hall at the time of Miriam’s murder.

He and Elaine detest Susan. They’re in some position to suggest her to the publishing house to help Eliot, maybe.

So, either she babysits Eliot successfully, or it goes wrong and the Crace firm ostracises her.

What I can’t work out is, if Eliot had calmed down and done well, how Charles and Elaine could intervene to upend things, so preventing Eliot and Susan from revealing Charles’ role in Miriam’s murder?

Jonathon’s line to Roland re Front Row ‘if you can’t stop / control him we’ll have to find someone who can’ sounded VERY menacing, almost in a hitman-hiring sort of way. Real, or red-herring?

lottiegarbanzo · 24/10/2026 18:27

Oh and also I have no idea what Charles’ motivation for murdering Miriam would have been. She provided him with lucrative work.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/10/2026 19:25

I have no idea who

will watch live tonight

SanFairyAnnie · 24/10/2026 19:59
