I found this week's quite boring.
Sorry, but Grace is such a do- gooder that I find her annoying

Edited

Perhaps I'm evil but I did find it satisfying that Grace tried her social worker thing, oooh I know I can establish a connection with this woman because I'm so good with young people, and it backfired.

RaraRachael · 06/10/2026 23:17

@SevenSeasOfRhyeThat's exactly how I felt too!

B9waiting · 11/10/2026 21:16

And me @RaraRachael

I also don’t believe the Macintyre son would ever out his parents, no matter how angry, as he knows the consequences. I know he’s now meant to be a tortured soul but no chance would he say this stuff.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/10/2026 07:47

Even tho he was stoned /on drugs ?

Absolutely - that sort of shit is drilled into you from being young, so unless he wants his parents killed (& thus himself also by association), there’s no way he’d say a word. [DD of a policeman here who had it drilled into her in a similar way - never discuss / disclose as you could easily be killed]

We watched the last episode last night. Stunning. Some of the best dialogue I can remember in TV, so many brilliant lines.

We are going to re-watch later!

Peachy2005 · 13/10/2026 22:40

Right well, that’s two fairly slow episodes in a row so I think we can expect fireworks next episode!

RaraRachael · 13/10/2026 22:49

I find it hard to remember what's happened in the past so a lot of tonight's episode went over my head.
OH knows I'm struggling when I have to ask him who somebody is or why they're doing something.

Banjas · 13/10/2026 23:39

That was some episode.
The acting was great.
I thought the song played at the end - Everybody Knows was brilliant.
It said it all. ☹️

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/10/2026 03:18

I’m a little confused - so the grey haired head police lady knew he was an informant and met the family go without charges ?

need to find a recap

Recap e3

thi still don’t understand what happened in court

SevenSeasOfRhye · 14/10/2026 07:26

My interpretation was that Mo would have revealed the truth on the stand - as he had been shouting his mouth off in the previous episode - that his father had been working as a 'tout' for years. This would have outed his contact - the MI5 agent he was dealing with - and blown the whole long-running operation out of the water.

Tina met the agent urgently and warned him that if the trial went ahead, his cover and operation would be blown. He pulled strings in the background to get the trial abandoned, which the director of public prosecutions would have had to agree to if going ahead represented a threat to national security, as that would trump getting justice for a murder.

'The Crown' - i.e. the prosecution therefore withdrew, offering no further evidence, so the trial collapsed.

ItsPickleRick · 14/10/2026 07:36

I thought it was a brilliant episode. Great acting by Mo and Sandra.

@SevenSeasOfRhye is spot on - If Mo had crumbled on the stand and told everyone his dad was an informant and had been working with M15, the agents would have been exposed and the operation would have been finished. National security trumps justice.

I did shed a tear re-watching Gerry’s death.

SevenSeasOfRhye · 14/10/2026 07:47

Me too, I've been really impressed by Mo and Sandra's acting throughout this series, they have both been really stirring. I am intensely curious as to what's going to happen to Mo now.

Same, it’s taking all my willpower not to binge the remaining episodes!

Yes, that's the ace Tina played although I think it's fair to say her only concern was saving her own skin, and Mo's. His rant in the pub could be passed off as unhinged drunken behaviour, but if he'd taken the stand and told the truth in court, they'd both have been dead meat.

Peachy2005 · 14/10/2026 09:13

I think Tina has signed her own death warrant anyway as Mo’s co-defendant now knows she got the trial abandoned and therefore must suspect she is in with the security services (he said something after the acquittal). So she will probably try to bump him off but there are bound to be rumours after Mo’s pub fight so she won’t be able to bump everyone off… just my guess

Banjas · 14/10/2026 09:43

Good thinking @Peachy2005
Heartbreaking that Gerry didn’t get justice.
I know I said it in a previous post but wasn’t the song at the end so apt.
Andi Osho as Sandra, Gerry’s widow was great.
Such an expressive face.
Though I thought it odd that her only support in court was Happy. Surely she would have family and friends ?
A tad unbelievable.
The fellow eating chewing gum in the scene where they were loading the bus with drugs will feature again methinks. The daggers he was giving the female PC, Aisling.
The episode was all the more poignant when you think that the day it was aired, we saw in the Republic of Ireland the deaths in a fire of a family of four - parents and their two children and the hospitalisation of two more of their children with serious injuries supposedly because of a drug death by someone known to them.
😢
