I haven't watched today's yet, but I think George was always 'honourable but dim'. He couldn't see Cindy's manipulations, and it took him forever to notice and stand up to Eddie's racism. And now he's with Nicola without realising she has killed two people (accidentally of course). His judgment of character is seriously awry.

Shelling ! Nail on the head re George. For an ex boxer hard nut , he certainly lets people manipulate him!

It's all those knocks to the head....

George’s character has been dulled and he’s been a bit part for a while now. His highlight was the Eddie storyline when it all came out about his bio dad. The rest of the material he has had to work with has been very poor, the Cindy/Rose rigmarole, Cindy and Junior.

Even getting together with Nicola and becoming a dad which was the result of a quick bunk up in the bar was rushed and unconvincing.

I bet it turns out that Nicola premeditated the killing ( somehow ) or some such. Maybe then G may remember Billy saying she was dangerous ( because jumpers told him!) Nancy, I didn’t think she would have agreed to be a surrogate especially as she has epilepsy and so on, but maybe she was desperate for money ?

George has been phoning it in for ages , ever since him and E’laine split up his been in the background a fair bit.

I assumed Colin Salmon was working on other projects tbh. He looks completely disinterested.

Wasn’t Colin salmon up in court for driving offenses a while back ? Maybe he just had a lot of time off and happy to not be in it that much atm.
Nicola is running it all herself, but Ned seems determined to change things and get his feet under that desk. He’ll be doing dodgy deals in no time.

I think he has a very sick wife and only took the gig as it's reliable money and close to home. So has other things on his mind, sadly. Unfortunately it shows.

He was, IRC ,he mentioned the wife then as a reason he needed the car.

Didn’t know about Colin’s wife.

Random irritations ;
What do Ryder and Jodie do for work and money ? Is Jodie on benefits ?
Nancy told Linda the hospital knew she had epilepsy and so on, but I thought she lived abroad.
Why didn’t Lee or her tell Linda or E’laine anything at all about the baby ?

I'd assumed Nancy told the doctors at the hospital.

Assuming it's surrogacy, where is Lee's partner?

I can’t remember who Lee was with. He went off to Dover didn’t he to be a customs officer?
He had split with Whitney.

I am guessing then that Nancy returned to the Uk and didn’t bother telling her mum or her Nan.
Which feels very off.

It will all make as much sense as the Hawkins nonsense. None!

Yes Colin Salmon's wife is ill and I think he stays at EastEnders because it's an easy gig, he lives quite nearby and gets to go home every night. It's sad about his wife but he's definitely phoning it in.

So how do we think Lee and Nancy are going to factor into Linda's "explosive" exit storyline?

I see the Lee actor has streamlined his name from Danny-Boy Hatchard to Danny Hatchard

The writers seem obsessed with pregnancy stories and babies at the moment.

Must be quite a high risk pregnancy with epilepsy. Odd to become a surrogate in that situation

I thought that too.
The actress is pregnant in real life, but to write this in is strange especially as she didn’t want children.

I reckon Lee and his partner asked Nancy to be their surrogate because his partner can’t have children, maybe the change is that she has left Lee; or died?

If she’s left Lee, that would make sense why there’s a problem as they would be in a custody battle before the baby is even born and Nancy would be inclined to give the baby to Lee as her brother but it could be messy - like any potential storyline they plan to run.

If she’s died, it could explain the leaked pictures of Linda, Max and Janine at an unknown funeral - we know it’s not Zoe’s. Could Lee and Nancy have stayed in contact with Janine? Maybe.

edited to add.. whatever random storyline it is, it will ultimately lead to Linda’s departure to help her children with the mess they’ve created.

I’ll miss Linda. I like her character. She isn’t perfect, but she is played well and had her ups and downs.
I don’t like her with Max though, but it is nice to see her happy ( briefly ) I can’t see it lasting.

Oh no Linda and Max. I must have missed an episode. I don’t know how she walks in the high heels she always look uncomfortable.
Strange to see Nancy back.

That episode was 90% rubbish. The whole Nancy storyline and especially the ending was embarrassingly bad. Nancy had no reason to turn up in Walford, she could have FaceTimed Johnny. And does Linda really never speak to either of them?

Nic and Ned, at least they can act but it’s such a poor storyline. Why is Gemma pestering Nic about ‘we were having a good time, why did you run off“. It was completely obvious why.

And the gaping holes in the main storylines are so apparent. Zoe died and Kat is now ‘upstairs in Zoe’s room’. Until the funeral presumably! And Max declared his love for Linda but they haven’t been seen together again except for about 30 seconds today.
