Yes, new Ash is definitely a chip off the block and more like Suki than she would like to admit!

the80sweregreat · 29/09/2026 21:37

Suki’s face whenever she sees Ash is a picture. She really has an expressive face .

SnowFrogJelly · 29/09/2026 23:30

Ewww creepy Craig

SnowFrogJelly · 29/09/2026 23:31

Agree Ash is improving.. scene with Denise was nice

storminabuttercup · 30/09/2026 06:52

Sorry yes Laura not Jayne it’s because Bobby went to stay with Jayne the other year it messed my memory up

I liked Ash with Denise, would have been Sonia having that conversation previously

Craig is a horrible character and obviously playing on Amy’s vulnerability she’s messed up but it’s hardly surprising, I have a feeling Denise storming out is to do with this, it’ll come out, jack and Jack will be like ‘Amy has had it rough then you got ill’ and she will be like ‘i can’t believe you’re putting this on me’ (rightly so he’s an idiot)

I really felt for Denzel he’s such a sweet young man

Eve and Ash did have a moment apparently ( Eve mentioned it the other day ) but I don’t remember it or what went on!

I have absolutely no memory of that either!

MadisonAvenue · 30/09/2026 08:43

Howie was in last week’s episode of Ted Lasso.

the80sweregreat · 30/09/2026 08:51

I noticed Howie in Ted lasso too and he popped up in season two of slow horses as a bus driver for one episode. Working with Gary Oldman must be awesome.

Eastie77Returns · 30/09/2026 09:40

I didn't realise Eve and Ash ever crossed paths either! I can definetly see Eve getting fed up with Suki's behaviour and growing closer to Ash. Poor Ria, abandoned by her mum and now ending up in this shitshow. She should never have been placed with them.

MyWildOliveGoose · 30/09/2026 09:50

I really like new Ash and Suki together. Suki is one of my faves, I can’t lie. She is such a good actress when given the correct material and other good people around her, otherwise she gets squished down. I will forever miss her and Nish together, they were both great.

I do quite like new Ash all round, she’s soft, but fiesty and doesn’t do any weird longing looks into the abyss lol all her facial expressions match the mood.

I think the Craig x Amy story isn’t nice but actually is really important and hopefully a lesson for Jack. I went through it personally as a child and it wasn’t until it was too late that my parents took any notice of what was happening right under their noses. I’m hoping the storyline is done justice and wakes a few parents up who may not be paying enough attention to their vulnerable children. Amy is vulnerable, she’s lost her mum and aunt, none of the Mitchell’s seem relatively interested in her. Her step mum that loves her is dying right in front of her and I found the scenes between her and D yesterday quite powerful tbh. Her dad’s got his head so far up his arse, he doesn’t even seem to realise how desperate she is to feel loved.

Shellingbynight · 30/09/2026 11:51

How the does Howie get all this work, he's so mediocre (IMO).

Ash and Suki spar very well together, Ash is a chip off the old block.

the80sweregreat · 30/09/2026 12:05

Howie plays himself I think! Things I’ve seen him in he tends to play the same kind of characters!

Eastie77Returns · 30/09/2026 13:27

I think the show brings out the worst in actors as the writing is very poor at times. Because there are several who are mediocre in Eastenders but have performed well elsewhere with stronger storylines. The best ones like Oscar tend to leave quite quickly as they are surrounded by dross but I guess there are lifers like Dee, Phil who are actually trained actors and really good but perhaps just stick around to pick up a cheque. Steve M gets a lot of flexibility to do his panto etc and in all honesty, can anyone really see him acting in anyting else - he is Phil Mitchell for life!

I really like Suki as well. She's complex as she has a heart and does care for her family (some of the time and on her terms) but she's also capable of extremely dodgy deeds. I suppose being married to someone as evil as Nish would had a corrosive impact on anyone.

Shellingbynight · 29/09/2026 20:49

That is a good point, when Eve sees Suki in opposition to Ash she will see a different side to her.

Oh dear we aren't going to get Ash making a play for Eve are we... 😨

Edited

It might be Eve making a play for Ash. I’d say it is on the cards. As 80’s said, they had a moment.
Ash was really kind to Denise.
I wonder how she lost her job and marriage.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 30/09/2026 13:32

To add. I really really like Suki too.

That's explained today re the job and wife.

I'm pivoting on Ash, she's growing on me. I had the same with Oscar, hard no at the start, but now I like him a lot.

jodie is just awful.

NowNumber5 · 30/09/2026 13:51

Harry's Ned's isn't he?

Shellingbynight · 30/09/2026 13:53

That's what we've been thinking @NowNumber5 since the conversation Nic had with Ned a few weeks ago. It seemed like they share an uncomfortable secret.

@EmeraldShamrock000 yes it could be either way around, I just thought Eve is more likely to be loyal to Suki than Ash is!

murasaki · 30/09/2026 13:57

I thought that re Harry given today's ending.

the80sweregreat · 30/09/2026 14:26

I really disliked Ash last week , wanted her gone .. but I’ve changed my mind now ! She seems a good addition and I hope she does stay on.
Im not sure that a person like Nugget , just turned 18, could be a practice manager in a surgery. I’ve no idea and never met my own one (!) but it feels like the kind of job you need experience for and maybe a medical background, unless he is just the owner ? I am confused by this , but maybe it’s the norm ?
Anyway, what is Ned’s secret ? Why did Nicola leave them all to it and go home ? No sign of George or the baby either! The lying over the fund raising was ridiculously bad. The stag do was funny!

Eastie77Returns · 30/09/2026 14:56

Haven’t watched today but if Harry turns out to be Ned’s after Nicola already lied and passed Barney off as Ted’s kid as well then she’s a proper wrong’un! George might want to do a paternity test lol.

the80sweregreat · 30/09/2026 15:00

I’ve a hunch it’s the fact that Ned helped her to kill the dad. We know he drove off drunk, but maybe something else happened after and he helped her to finish him off ? It was 20 years ago and Harry is older than that, but I know that means nothing much on EE.

Shellingbynight · 30/09/2026 15:12

Knowing this producer, Ned will be Harry's dad and will have helped conceal a murder!

EmeraldShamrock000 · 30/09/2026 15:17

It makes sense. The loved up sister kept in the dark. No one is that happy in Eastender's. It would explain why Nicola stayed away from the family too.
Poor George.

Southeastdweller · 30/09/2026 15:24

I haven’t seen today’s episode but I’ve read Ned has leverage on Nic. So him being Harry’s dad wouldn’t work because Gemma would find out.
