Goodness, that was an emotional watch last night.

How compassionate was Reston the consultant. He epitomises the wonderful doctors we have and had such difficult conversations with empathy and clarity. And Paul, even in such a dire state, kept his sense of humour and grace.

I kept thinking, I am glad this is not the USA, as Paul would not have stood a chance with health care.

Ken did amazingly well to get back on his motorbike- you really sensed that him and his wife have the sort of old age that keeps them young.

It was interesting to see Carole’s story. The mortality stats are really very poor for frail elderly people with broken bones and you can see why from this programme. Even with swift surgery, it takes so much to recover and without reserves it’s just too much for many. I didn’t realise how much harder it was to operate and close wounds on frail skin alongside the anaesthetic risk so the surgery side was fascinating for me this episode. I just hope she wasn’t in too much pain post operation.

Fantastic series - sad to finish it.

Really hope they’ll be a series 2.

It really was excellent. I hope they do another series. It was easily as good as 'Ambulance' and should be on BBC1 next time. Very sad to see that Lady Carole passed away. She was a wonderful character. I hope Kai stays well, and fair play to the biker couple getting back on their bike!
