Trailer for the new series just dropped - no transmission date yet though.

Anyone else excited to see how Nigella gets on as the new judge? A worthy successor to Pru and Mary, I think.

How did Gabe decide which other member of the boy band to bring in the show??

Tossed for it…?

I'm sure they'd let you bring a friend if you didn't have a suitable family member.

Yes, I’m sure they’d stretch the definition- but I still feel uncomfortable with it. You’ve still got to find someone willing (and that you’d trust in the kitchen) and it’s not judging the contestants on themselves.

I’m finding it very distracting having all the extra people.

Dilemma999 · 06/10/2026 20:16

Hate it when a series goes all gimmicky. I guess they have to switch things up a bit but it runs the danger of the focus mostly taken away from the baking due to all the talking and backstories.

😂😂😂

Nigella didn't seem to rate the idea of being in a thrupple with Paul. I don't blame her!

GetSetFake · 06/10/2026 20:17

I think Paula wanted to be on the show. She's coming across as quite forcefully in charge.

This is so pointless. Even the lovely Alison can’t save this chaos

🤭🤭🤭

I was thinking rock paper scissors but that would work too

GetSetFake · 06/10/2026 20:19

Those swans are a bit of an improvement on Gary's buttercream stars in week 1.

Is Paula Gary's wife? I missed that bit.

I wonder what happens if the desired relative is a professional pastry chef or similar? I assume its intended to make comedy moments but I don't think its adding anything.

bungobungobungo · 06/10/2026 20:19

I hope these families aren’t staying for the whole programme- annoying!

Hobnobswantshernameback · 06/10/2026 20:20

what a pile of gimmicky pointless bollocks
and fuck off with your boy band thrupple nonsense
I am I'll tempered
what happened to baking

Next week will be Halloween themed!

bungobungobungo · 06/10/2026 20:23

Those who’ve had disasters can blame the relative I suppose?

MissMarplesNiece · 06/10/2026 20:23

It's dreadful. I'm with @Hobnobswantshernameback .

The lack of Nonnas dead or alive is very disappointing.

bungobungobungo · 06/10/2026 20:29

I was hoping the handshake had gone for good.

Is it bad that id have brought mammypotters urn?!?!? 🤣🤣

Maggiethecat · 06/10/2026 20:31

As a baker and fan of cheesecake I looked at Moyin’s and knew it would be good!
It had the perfect jiggle 😊

TheExtraGuineaPig · 06/10/2026 20:31

I think this technical challenge is more promising.

I would have taken Delia Smith’s Complete Cookery Course

GetSetFake · 06/10/2026 20:35

This is quite a tricky decision - play it safe and do something straightforward or trust your memory to go something much more ambitious. Gary's lemon drizzle had better be perfect!
