I loved ready steady cook! There was a show on BBC called best home cook and that did something similar it was so good! Worth seeing if it’s in iPlayer if you haven’t seen before especially the celebrity version.

Don’t like this - what if you don’t have a family member suitable for whatever reason, eg don’t want to take part - I wouldn’t for any of my family, or if you’re estranged. Wonder if it was made clear when they applied they needed to have someone to do this.

Why would it take two people to make a cheesecake? I mean if it was a big decoration job a helper makes sense but a one pot dish it seems just weird

TBH, I don't see the point of this. The 'help' is not necessary - I guess they wanted to shake things up and possibly help weaker bakers by giving them a chance to bring a family 'mentor' in?
