I’ve totally binged it. Honestly, I found all the couples really likeable this time around.

Oh, and Orla has a new puppy.

It's the same dog

warninglivewithoutwarning · 11/09/2026 19:32

I’ve just started watching series 5 and have watched all the episodes available there. They all seem vaguely normal people etc, relatable.
since I’ve run out of series 5 eps to watch, I’ve started watching series 4. WOW, they’re all a bunch of performative weirdos!
Are the other 3 series like this?

NeedAnyHelpWithThatPaperBag · 11/09/2026 19:33

Realised I called the therapist Orla in a previous post, instead of Orna. Oops.

Loved this! Where can access seasons 1 -3 please?

They're on Apple TV, I think - they’re not on iPlayer any more.

@warninglivewithoutwarning I've yet to watch series 4 but from what I've seen in reviews, it's unlike the previous series. Lots more polyamory etc.

burnoutbabe · 11/09/2026 23:22

Seen episodes 1-6. I agree drea is very passive.

Clinton now goes by Maeve!

purpleme12 · 11/09/2026 23:26

Oh wow

purpleme12 · 11/09/2026 23:27

How do you know?

burnoutbabe · 12/09/2026 00:03

It’s been posted on Reddit by the mods for discussion of all episodes.

PhilHellene · 12/09/2026 08:48

I also saw that about Clinton. There are photos of ‘Maeve’…

burnoutbabe · 12/09/2026 09:06

Yes it was confusing as people were discussing the couple and then got into trouble for deadnaming them. Reddit being Reddit you had to respect the pronouns.
which is fine for shay who announced her pronouns on the show and spoke of her trans identity but harder for Clinton who viewers only see as Clinton the man. Made for confusing threads!

Yes, she works with a 'thruple' in series 4. Their sessions are FASCINATING. It's a guy and 2 women, and his backstory is quite something. You've reminded me to rewatch it when I've finished season 5!

Her vocal fry is AWFUL. She sounds like a kazoo

Loving this again. I can’t take to Chris, so many lame excuses for being a complete dick to his lovely wife.

Agree. He's a total dick and doesn't deserve her. (even with his back story)

Zippedydoobaah · 15/09/2026 06:11

This is embarrassing but don't know where else to ask this. Re Shay and Clinton - as I understood it, Shay still has male parts. Does this mean Clinton is gay?

It's a fair question! Men who are sexually interested in others men's penises are definitely not straight.

I hear you - my first impression of them was 'my god, she is so far out of his league'. HOWEVER, I really did feel by the end that he was genuinely able to make space for her feelings, and wasn't just looking for excuses for his own behaviour

NeedAnyHelpWithThatPaperBag · 15/09/2026 18:31

Yes, I remember thinking Chris's wife seemed to be minimising herself on the alter of his trauma, so to speak, so hopefully they've both come away from this experience the better for it as a couple.

I hope so @Lottapianos

And she had trauma of her own! Her horrific rape as a child of only 14 only came out in later episodes. Her trauma didn't cause her to cheat on him either funnily enough.

i dunno i felt so sad for him but also, I hate the way men seem to be excused of any agency so easily.

formigas · 20/09/2026 13:22

I've just started watching series 5 and I don't find any of the couples as interesting as the ones in previous series but maybe this will change as I get further along. I mainly watch because I love Orna, she's so patient.

I think Jason and Marjorie would be fine if they listened to one another, the autistic bloke is incapable of having a healthy relationship with anyone, including himself, the lesbian couple are probably incompatible as one of them seems to want to shag around (but calls it "evolving") and Chris is a dick. Cuddle therapy my arse.

I remember the throuple from the previous series. I was a bit surprised Orna took them on. There was also a couple that were completely incompatible, Boris and Jessica I think.

Does anyone remember Peng and Will(?I think) from series 3? I felt as though I had PTSD after watching them.

Lottapianos · 20/09/2026 22:15

'I think Jason and Marjorie would be fine if they listened to one another'

I actually really liked both of them ☺️

Hard agree about Clinton the autistic guy. Didn't seem capable of having a trustworthy and healthy relationship

Yes I remember Peng and Will very clearly! Their sessions were tough to watch. She was so very angry and he cried a lot and seemed heartbroken. I remember Orna working out that they were helping each other to access emotions that were too painful for them each to feel - sadness in Peng's case, and anger for Will. Absolutely fascinating, and very sad to watch

Boris and Jessica - wow. Also very painful and head melting to watch

It's one of the most fascinating shows I've ever seen
