Does anyone know how the food doesn't go cold for the tasting? I was thinking about Jason's pancakes. Maybe they were meant to be cold

It does go cold. I read a thing about it once. They taste stone-cold dishes but pretend it’s hot 🤮 And quite often you can plainly see from the lingering camera shots that the food's cold and congealed, too. Just imagine the time it takes to fiddle around with camera shots, close-ups, hair, make-up, repositioning people….then replicate it for however many contestants. Must be a nightmare.

So it seems that whenever we chuffians champion a contestant they always seem to get kicked off the competition. So we try not to jinx them by doing so out loud

You're absolutely right.
The "forced to leave competition" bit makes it sound like he was breaking rules or groped somebody...whereas it's just the way the competition works!
The "furious viewers" sounded a lot like us lot when we'd have preferred somebody else to have left: Viewers were furious to see Jay go, with one writing: “Well well…shooketh! Jay was robbed!”
Not to mention that they've chosen a still of Grace that looks like she's heard someone has just died.
Don't think it would add to viewers' pleasure if nobody was "forced to leave" and we just watched episodes of the same people over and over until they were all winners. Or losers.

Edited to change "photo" to "still" because that's important. The film just showed her doing a brief facepalm "Oh, poor Jay!" gesture, because what else would you do - laugh happily as he goes?
But the still looks like something awful has happened, not a normal part of the show 🙄

Just caught up as was out last night. I’m hoping not to see another pie in the series. Not that I’ve got anything against pies, I like them but they don’t like me unfortunately! So no more pies, ok Joe!
