Anyone watching? I love John Simm playing a sleazebag. Overall concept clever & subversive. Great script. Anyone have favourite scenes? I love where Sally’s son calls here out as a cheating trophy wife - immediately regrets it of course.

I am really loving it. I’ve got two episodes left. John Simm’s character is just awful, but he’s playing him really well.

There are just too many strands in the story to predict which way it will go at the moment.

There’s been quite a few laugh out loud moments.

Loved it.
Until the final episode.
Then aaarrrggghh.

(You'll understand).

Watched 3 so far and am enjoying - pace , well written and good acting . Keeps you guessing as there are so many strands

Aaargh indeed.

For all us aaarghers series 2 is in production though I shan't watch that until I know it has a satisfactory ending.

Silverbirchleaf · 15/07/2026 12:38

Just watched the first episode, and I’m hooked.

(although guessing the ending is inconclusive).

The last episode of the first series was good. The conclusion was unexpected and most definitely looking forward to Season 2.

TaylorsMate · 15/07/2026 20:38

Only halfway through the first episode, having paused at the autopsy. Can relate to this story so far….hopefully not to much in the future….

Copyalex · 15/07/2026 20:59

I was enjoying it till the last two episodes, found it quite gripping, and then it just got daft.

Nousernameideaaga · 15/07/2026 21:00

I got bored after the first ten minutes which was disappointing as I was really looking forward to watching it.

should I stick with it then?

LaurieFairyCake · 15/07/2026 21:09

Loved it! Roll on series 2.

Yes, I think it gets better. It seems to settle down after a while, and the story evolves.

I have watched first 4 only & will catch up soon (World Cup has intruded)

Liking it. Funny in parts. Sort of quite stylish in a way. Looking forward to the rest of S1 (currently only on ep 3)

Unfawning · 16/07/2026 16:33

It’s soapy and I didn’t believe a lot of it, but I enjoyed it enough to watch it all. I loved the detective actor as a school pupil in that excellent Doctor Who ep (Family of Blood, I think) and would have watched it just for him.

575M · 18/07/2026 17:17

It had many good points but the excellent Trevor Eve was grossly underused. If they were going to have flash forwards, they might as well as had flash backs with Trevor as well !

I didn't find Nikki Amuka-Bird as the third wife remotely credible, but John Simm made full use of his character in total contrast to his equally brilliant role in Grace. Grace's wife here was deliciously abnoxious, again in a complete contrast to her previous role with John Simm.

BUT the way the "series" was brought to an end was completely daft. If they wanted to produce a second series, they could at least have brought the first one to a successful conclusion first, But to leave it hanging in mid air was an insult to viewers who had invested their time in all six episodes. They could have easily ended series one satisfactorily with, at most, another one or two episodes and still had plenty of material for a series two.

Sidebeforeself · 18/07/2026 19:38

I loved it but it was a bit daytime soapy. It did annoy me by using that script technique when a character is asked an important question they just stutter a lot and never actually answer it. Then the other person just accepts that or walks off etc. Who does that in real life?

Londonnight · 20/07/2026 06:08

I really enjoyed it. I have watched all 6 episodes. I had already guessed who the murderer was. I wasn't expecting it to end as it did though!

Appalonia · 20/07/2026 10:57

I liked that I couldn't actually guess who the murderer was, but the ending really annoyed me. This is the sort of thing Netflix does! Very annoying
( and by the time the next series is shown, I'll have forgotten the plot and the characters...)

MrsLargeEmbodied · 21/07/2026 05:35

just watched first episode,
was good

I still have no idea who the murderer is.

How have you seen the end? Is it all available?

Agree. I started watching by accident as it ran on after the news. The scripting and acting are terrible. Lots of soliloquies to camera that are giving drama school audition. I’m still watching it but it’s really annoying me.

Conicallychronic · 22/07/2026 10:05

I really enjoyed it, the cliff hanger not so much.
