In some parts/cultures in Scotland, it's really not that uncommon!

I'm am extremely frequent swearer, although oddly less so in anger when I go super cold, but she makes me sound like Mary Poppins. Bit less use of the c word though, but then she is on telly.

Agreed & in NI too, so her swearing doesn’t bother me at all (although her screaming in the dressing room does!)

Ah yes I've met girls in the past that act / speak / react the way Ellie does.

If she had said she came from Glasgow I would have believed it, I understand she is from West Lothian
( which Google tells me is only 30 mins or so from Glasgow )

I still believe she should have walked by now, continuing to say she is going to walk but doesn't makes her less believable - I feel.

I don’t think the producers will want Ellie to go, because then the Fin and Elicia storyline will
go stale and they’ll probably be voted off immediately alongside Martha & Jonathan.

They might be hoping for an Amber Gill scenario where they throw a bombshell in for Ellie in the last couple of weeks and the public get behind them even though there’s little to no chemistry.

It wouldn’t surprise me if they orchestrated a dumping in which Fin and Elicia go home (if he doesn’t choose Ellie decisively soon or she leaves).

I’ve seen some chatter online about there being no preview for tonight’s ep at the end of last night’s episode. Some speculation that Ellie has actually left.

God, Instagram comments are just full of people moaning about not seeing Jas. it feels clear they have already decided she should win, but whilst I like Jas she was basically the storyline for about 5 weeks and I don’t like or trust Kav. Producers always focus on the drama. It can get a bit boring but if we’re watching Jas and Kav just have a basic conversation whilst another person is kissing or crying, that makes no sense in their heads surely? I think Jas and Kav will end up winning based on the hundreds of comments moaning about the lack of her on every single post, people are obsessed!

Also on that, seeing people still attacking Charleen and saying she needs to get over Kav because he didn’t like her - has no one ever been lovebombed by a man before? She is allowed to talk about her feelings, especially when asked on Debrief!

I listened to Debrief and I wonder if the producers convinced Simba to bring Mara back? She says she was shocked he did, he said he didn’t know why he did, everyone was surprised because the day before the recoupling he said he was 100% for Angie. I wonder if they got him to do it a) for drama and b) because Mara is a cool character (who I hope we see as an OG or on All Stars). Just a thought!

I think some people feel Jasmine has been hard done by. She got a lot of hate for her flirtation with Lorenzo because of how it made Kav feel, yet Lorenzo got off free even though he put Yas through the exact same thing and was arguably worse than Jasmine in his approach!

The producers wanted them to get together, it looked like Lorenzo wanted them to get together, and now there’s speculation that Jas is being ‘iced out’ because she didn’t play along.

But when it was the Jas drama we barely saw anybody else, surely that’s just how this is? We don’t see much of Tommy and Yas as a couple, I often forget Tommy exists, but that’s because they’re not really involved in anything, only occasionally when Yas speaks up on behalf of a friend. I just think that Jas fans (and I like Jas) are getting a bit too obsessed. As I said in my second message, the way they spoke about Charleen too since she was interviewed is pretty awful. If Jas was comforting Ellie as some of the others have been, she would be featured as she was yesterday talking to Fin. To suggest she is being banned from our screens is a bit much, we had weeks and weeks of her, it’s someone else’s turn.

Also we don’t know the producers wanted them to get together, that’s just the rhetoric that fans have decided. There was no indication that producers wanted Lorenzo and Jas together, no official source has said this. And Lorenzo had several opportunities and he did nothing about it. People are inventing a narrative to be angry about.

Priya is being so weird! I can understand her point that she has a boundary with Aidan when they were a couple so now what does she do but it seems almost like she wanted Aidan to give her permission to kiss Ethan. He rightly said it's her decision to make but also she's whined about being in a triangle and saying she feels like it's fair to him to kiss him is a bit odd!

Just caught up - the girls need to stop with the ultimatums. Jas, Angie and now Ellie have threatens to leave if the man they’re talking to doesn’t give them what they want. It worked for Jas and Angie, but at what cost? Wouldn’t you always wonder if you have gotten that person by force? If she hadn’t threatened Kav I think he would have still explored with Charleen. I don’t know about Simba as he is utterly bizarre. It might not work for Ellie as Finley doesn’t seem to be taking much notice of her feelings, but if you have to give a man an ultimatum to stay with you then, in my opinion, he isn’t for you.

Well to be fair, we don’t know for sure what the producers do or don’t want, but we do know that they make editorial decisions in order to get 24 hours (or more) down to a 60 or 80 minute episode and everything we are shown is intentional.

I’d go out on a limb to suggest that Jas and Lorenzo weren’t the only people in there having the odd flirty conversation, yet it was shoved down our throats. All the shots of Lorenzo looking longingly at Jas, the clip of Lorenzo being asked if he missed someone whose name ended in “min”, the cards that they have to read out in certain games etc all directs the audience to focus on this will they/won’t they dynamic.

If fans have decided that the producers wanted them to get together, it’s because the producers seemed to spend a lot of time focusing on it.

Jas got the drama edit and was villainised while Lorenzo goes off to be the most liked male islander for two votes in a row. I like both of them, but there does seem to be a double standard in how Jas is viewed as opposed to Lorenzo.

That's just your bog standard every day sexism though. It's always the woman's fault, even when it isn't.

Yeah I don’t agree with this viewpoint at all. Maybe there were other flirty chats, but maybe because everyone is obsessed with Jas that’s why it was centered. It’s bizarre to say that is what the producers wanted. Maybe the producers were doing that because most of social media was full of people saying that’s what they wanted, Jas and Lorenzo together, when it became clear that that wasn’t going to happen they moved on. I just caught up with the latest episode, saw Jordon and was like ‘Oh wait, he is still there?’ Because we haven’t seen fuck all from him either. It’s been about a week of no Jas drama and people are kicking off that she is being iced out because the producers want this and that. Well by the same claim we could say the producers want Yas and Tommy and Jordon and Martha gone as we haven’t seen anything from them either. It’s ridiculous to claim it’s a set up purely because someone isn’t getting as much screen time because others are getting their time. Jas and Kav and Lorenzo had weeks of screen time.

I also didn’t seem to see the villain edit for Jas, to me Kav was the one who came across badly and I don’t like him any more for any of his behaviour during that time. I think people are reading way too much into it purely because they have a favourite person, otherwise they’d be shouting for more of Yas and Martha too as we have barely seen them. In fact, we have only seen one conversation between Mica and Samraj in the last two episodes and that is only because they were talking about the public vote and it last less than 30 seconds.

I think Fin does like Ellie but he's enjoying the attention. I'm shocked she said she'd take him back so easily.

Angelists saying she loves Simba is so weird. It makes her look a bit simple as well. especially as she indicated she felt that way when he was still messing her about. How bad is that?!

I think Priya's just using Ethan to get Aidan to commit to her.

Why does there seem to be one rule for Priya re her date with Ethan when Aidan was very happy to be taken into the hideaway by Elicia.

I think Aidan would ditch Priya very quickly had Elicia picked him the other evening.

I agree. And i don't understand the comments about Priya being desperate. If anything, Aidan is the one who is really desperate. He's always angling for a kiss from every girl he talks to. I dont get the impression he actually fancies anybody (but himself!!)

I don't know. She does come across as a bit desperate to me. The boys do act desperate. Maybe it's because the girls usually don't that it stands out in her.

All the couples will be declaring their love for each other over the next couple of weeks, regardless of the fact none of them are actually. It’s all part of the game.

The producers know Ellie is v popular and don't want her out, so they'll change the format to avoid her leaving - not least because they don't want her to leave while she's so upset
