Can't think of a witty title, I didn't realise the other thread was fullGrin

I’m watching Grigor and Jakub. Poor Jakub, there’s hardly a single person cheering for him. Grigor is very popular.

That does make him sound a bt like a Womble.

Ice Grigor is very popular- and after the horrible injury last year (when he might have even beaten Jannik) I think people are really willing him to do well.

I had a Wellington PJ case. My brother had an Orinocco one Grin

Raahh · 02/07/2026 19:50

Forza! Jasmine.

Good day for the Italians.

I loved the Wombles. Apparently the tv show is being revived- again .

If Grigor wins, he plays Matteo next. So I almost want it to be Jakub (sorry Jakub)- because then I will be happy for Matteo to win.

Otherwise I will be very torn.

I think Jamie is actually underwater - possibly in a submarine? He’s probably just glad not to be sat with Clare!

Fizzywinegum · 02/07/2026 20:00

I remember PJ cases Grin

Raahh · 02/07/2026 20:06

Maybe Jamie had it written into his contract, that he would do it- but as little screen time with Claire as possible.

(and he really is in an underground burrow, under Wimbledon common).

it looks a bit sweaty - maybe this is part of the BBCs modernisation of Wimbledon Hmm

Although I want Grigor to win this match I’m not sure that I could cope with a Grigor/Matteo match Sad

kazzaD66 · 02/07/2026 20:12

Nooo! I don't want Grigor to play Matteo! There have been some heart breaking match ups this week!

Raahh · 02/07/2026 20:16

Woo Grigor

Are they closing the roof?

Not sure Grigor is happy they are doing that this early.

OP posts:
Raahh · 02/07/2026 20:18

It will absolutely favour Jakub, if the roof closes. And Grigor knows it.

OP posts:
IceandIndigo · 02/07/2026 20:19

Yes they’re closing it.

I never quite understand why at Wimbledon they can’t play while the roof is closing. They do at Roland Garros. Is it because of the lights?

If they didn’t close it now they’d probably have to do it halfway through the next set.

I don't know why they can't close it during play- I went to Wimbledon many years before a roof was even on Centre, never mind Number 1 (court 1 was still the 'lean to' on Centre Court at the time). Is it noisy when they close it?

No housework during Wimbledon is definitely a thing. When my DM was growing up it was a fortnight of beans on toast. As my dgm couldn’t be bothered to cooks she was so into it. My mum who wasn’t as much of a fan of tennis learnt to cook over those two weeks so that there was more variety in meals

I vividly remember how my mother lived on gooseberries and plums during Wimbledon.

Me and my sister used to fend for ourselves. My dad was always working away.

My dc know the drill Grin .

Big Foe is through. Gutted another Brit is out but I do like Francis Tiafoe

kazzaD66 · 02/07/2026 20:27

And Choinski is out.
Arthur is the last Brit standing.

Fizzywinegum · 02/07/2026 20:29

Well done Frances - hope he’s going to put the stripper trousers back on

Hope that Grigor isn’t too traumatised by the roof - it does make a bit of a clanking noise but doesn’t take too long to close

Oh Jamie has been freed!

kazzaD66 · 02/07/2026 20:29

Jamie has been let out. Annabel is very tanned.
