TENNIS THREAD- WIMBLEDON continues!

[Raahh]

Can't think of a witty title, I didn't realise the other thread was full

Actually Ice you are probably right regarding Taylor- he's had some near misses. He was unlucky when Rafa beat him in 2022 only to withdraw- in some respects, (if it would have avoided Dick getting to the final), I might have preferred Rafa to lose! But I do get why Rafa didn't give up.

But Bublk is fun to watch (when his head is in the right place

I suppose I am a sucker for Eala’s journey here

Mmmm I'm not particularly supporting anyone yet today, just looking forward to some good matches - would love to see a great match between Grigor and Arthur. Just a lovely day of tennis to start the second week and want it never to end - Wimbledon always ends faaaarrrr tooooo sooooon.

Marta is going well. She’s been a bit under the radar here. I do find her quite a nervy player, although fun to watch when she’s on.

Wow, what an incredible set point!

Well done Marta

Well done Marta.

Sorry Alex but I want Cobolli to win this one - hopefully there’ll be no tummy trouble for Flávio today

I am going to watch the Paolini match on tv, and Flavio on my laptop. What could possibly go wrong.

I usually flick between matches and end up not really concentrating on any of them!

I’m adding elastic band to the bingo card (or rubber band depending on where the commentator is from)

I agree with Martina, that Laura Robson knows what she's talking about.

Break for Flavio. Forza!

Forza! (Sorry Alex)

And a break for Jasmine. Forza! (Sorry to both of the Alexs ).

They should spray the crowd with water

Yes hose them down - it does look very hot! It’s best to sit higher up in the cheap seats - at least you’re under cover there!

Eala is struggling today. But Jasmine is playing well.

Well done Flávio - although he doesn’t really look as if he’s woken up yet - I’d not realised that Italians were playing Alex’s on both courts

3/4 of the men’s matches today have an Alexander playing!

Popular name for tennis players!

Although I think ADM’s parents didn’t bother with the ander part!

Jasmine is very shouty today

And so is Elise

First comment from Martina re- Jasmine's height.

If it was Chrissie. we would have heard '5ft 4' within the first 10 seconds.
