I don’t bother anymore with the other thread, it’s too slow-moving for me and I can’t be bothered waiting until after EE has been broadcast to discuss.

So the new character will be working on a case. Probably connected to the flash forward episode which I need to rewatch. I’ve seen the actor in other stuff and I’m sure he’ll be a positive addition to EE.

Nobody available for the new policeman , Linda has a new man looming with the councillor and Amy and Avani too young. He’ll have to stay single ( unless he has a partner already ?)

@MadisonAvenue I agree Zoe’s return was a total disaster. Partly because of the misconceived storyline with the twins mystery, and partly because Michelle Ryan cannot act.

At least killing her off means no one can have the bright idea of another return. I never understood the enthusiasm for her return, it seemed to be fanfic at its worst. She should have stayed in the past.

As I said earlier MR must have really pissed them off for them to kill off the character. She has finished filming so it's obviously a quick death, I wonder whether she bothered to turn up for it😆

It explains why she has hardly been on screen since spring and Kat has had a lot of the scenes which you’d expected to see Zoe in.

I’ve asked them to delete it and this morning it is still there 🫠 I fully expect to be torn a new one lol I deserve it. 🤣

I'm sure I don't remember Michelle Ryan being so bad first time.

@NowNumber5 I remember young Zoe as being a bit wooden and mediocre, but not as bad as this time round. The storylines didn't help though did they, the constant going round in circles with the stalker and MySon for months.

I don’t mind Zoe now she’s a bit part. Sad to kill her off , but maybe she upset the producer?
She disappeared for twenty years before , he obviously wanted her back now he doesn’t. Harsh.

I read in an online article somewhere that Michelle Ryan asked for some time off not long after starting work back at EE and then it sounds like she may have got into a strop and quit when they said no 😳

I see both sides.. producers have spent 20 years trying to get her back.. they successfully do and give her really silly storylines. I still believe they made a mess of the storyline with Jasmine somewhere along the line and merged the two as Jasmine was coming for Cindy originally - who had no connection to Zoe or Chrissy. I think they changed things, maybe in a way Michelle wouldn’t have agreed to initially and now she wants out. There is huge speculation online that there’s been some type of fall out behind the scenes and now they’re killing her off. We will never really know though.

More recently, I read that she had put something on her IG showing her burning some EE scripts!

I want to see Zoe go for good but not looking forward to the aftermath. Poor Kat. Those twins are not going to be able to act grief. It will be unwatchable. Jasmines superb facial expressions will make it look like she is laughing.

I can’t think of any other Slater they’ve killed off other than Charlie.

If this is true about Michelle wanting time off then it reminds me of a little of when Tiffany Mitchell was killed off (which Martine McCutcheon didn’t want) because MM was rumoured to be too demanding. MM wanted to come and go, but they wouldn’t allow it.

Oh thank goodness.. I normally go to bed at 9pm but I was up watching the football last night, scrolling, saw the spoiler and came to post it. No more mumsnetting after bed time for me 😅🤣

And yet they’ve currently got Sharon swanning in and out.. she will be next then 🫣

Letitia Dean is EE royalty, I don’t think they’ll ever kill her off! I think she is caring for an ill relative IRL, hence the repeated absences.

Sharon has earned time off by being in the show for so many years. And as Easties says I believe there was a good reason for it.

Zoe hasn't earned it. Demanding time off when you've been there for six months is not a good look.

I hope they change their minds about yet another death on the square. Antnee was bad enough , Martin was awful. Being written out is far less painful and gives them somewhere to go and visit too.
She lived abroad for 20 years , she could meet someone and go back easily.

Martin’s death broke my heart.. but I think he had been written out for some time not too long ago, and it was the actors preference I think.

I didn’t know that, about Leticia Dean, that makes sense ofcourse. She and Phil are absolute gold, part of me still hopes they will live happily ever after - eventually 😅 Phil hasn’t had a love interest in aaaaaggeessss!

Phil didn’t seem too interested in Sharon the other day did he. Maybe they will gravitate back together, but they have been on / off for years, they were married for a while , she often calls on him for help or money out the safe and they have invisible Albie.
