I zoned out. What was Phil’s text?

Something like your Dad’s been released, your Mom’s been kidnapped, all safe and he added a thumbs up emoji.

Best scenes ever. The bath falling on him tickles me every time I think about it 🤣

Did he get killed off? How did I miss that? Is it worth rewatching?

I don't know why they bring these quirky characters in and then panic because they don't know what to do with them apart from make then deranged, you know, cos they're a bit different. Same with Reiss. Could have been a bit of a comical character for light relief, but had to make him a murderer.

I thought Bea might be a good opportunity to explore how bullying in childhood might impact someone in adulthood, or maybe have a sensitive explored EUPD storyline, but Jesus, they massively fucked this characters journey. The soap lack character development and is too plot driven, but I guess that is soaps for you. It takes time to develop believeable well rounded characters well.

That is almost exactly what I said about Bea and bullying. She could’ve been turned around as a character and been a quirky character on a permanent basis. But oh no they have to make it extra dramatic and her kidnapping and murderous.

EE have lots of these characters though. Gray for one. I’d prefer a nice psychological character, a possible remorseful friend to Linda and Honey, rather than a psycho bitch like they’ve made her out to be. Bea’s character is obviously flawed from her childhood and useless mother, no father figure around, troubled character carried on into her schooldays yet Linda gets off scot free with having bullied her, didn’t she conveniently forget about bullying Bea? Yet Bea remembered. The self same Linda who’d be up in arms and up at the school if any of her brood were ever bullied. Hypocrite.

Definitely! It was during the live episode.

In the end, I wasn't sure if Linda did actually bully Bea. Or if Bea was just delusional and playing the victim already due to her other trauma from her mum's treatment of her? Either way, she definitely has some mental health issues that need help!

It was the live episode. Martin’s death. I think it’s worth rewatching, other than Ruby’s over dramatic squeal - it was a brilliant episode.

That’s where I thought it was going.. kind of like full circle, learning from your mistakes on how to break the cycle, especially with a highlight on autism. But no. Just a circus.

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · 08/07/2026 10:11

We only have Bea's word for it that she was bullied by Linda, I don't recall Linda being aware of it.

Just like we only have Bea's word for it re her father, and her mother.

MyWildOliveGoose · 08/07/2026 10:18

The end of today’s episode was funny.. I laughed out loud. Gotta love Priya 🤣

Shellingbynight · 08/07/2026 10:18

I don't think we are supposed to believe any of the stories Bea told. She was definitely unhinged.

I do think sadly Bea had a tough childhood. As to whether she was bullied by Linda I don’t know. But to be so unhinged with no background to it and reasons for her behaviour it would seem far fetched if there weren’t reasons from her childhood.

Well they messed up there didn’t they? Just had Bea with an evil glint in her eye after speaking to Linda and both her and Jack go off thinking she’s unhinged (which she is obviously).

I can’t believe I missed it. Will rewatch, Reiss was good as he was so sinister yet a bumbling character with it on the outside. Poor Sonya eh!

I feel he had so much more character development though, like we all sort of fell in love with his silly self before we knew what his dark secret was. Even when he kidnapped Bianca and it was a bit far fetched it was still believable that he could get in that mess simply from tripping over himself 🤣 this recent storyline has just been a mess lol

the80sweregreat · 08/07/2026 12:02

The Reiss episode when he died would be around 19th feb 2025 sort of time as EE was forty and it was a special episode.
I don’t know if it’s on I player , but might be on u tube if not.

the80sweregreat · 08/07/2026 16:02

I think that Cindy knows what’s going on with Max !

lazymum99 · 08/07/2026 18:54

Cindy is definitely suspicious. Can’t wait for Vinnie to open the boot 😂

BitLippie · 08/07/2026 19:24

Good old Jack, once again flouting the law rules and letting random neighbours and friends into the police station to talk to suspects under arrest. As you do 🤣

Meredusoleil · 08/07/2026 19:51

Omg! What a bitchy GP 😳

lazymum99 · 08/07/2026 20:02

I hope that GPs behaviour is unusual. Personally, I have never experienced anything like that. My family use both private and NHS and as soon as the consultant writes to them they update any prescription needed. If it is something ongoing they just ask that a further letter confirms that the medication can be continued. And that any blood or others test results are sent.
They are also quite happy to write referral letters to be taken to private consultants. All they ask is to make sure that the reports are sent to them so that they have the whole picture.
This GP was awful from the start.

Shellingbynight · 08/07/2026 20:04

I don't think Cindy knows what's going on yet, but she's getting suspicious now. So she'll be watching to see what he's up to.

Billy and Honey really aren't interesting enough to get all this screen time.
