Only one poster is calling speculation of being gay a slur, and they might want to think about why they viewed it like that. No one else said it was a slur at all.

I agree. I think it's a weird take to say that a discussion on whether someone might be gay or not is a slur. There was no hatred or vileness attached to those speculative comments – so why take them as an insult? I thought we lived in more enlightened times than that.

It’s not your place to speculate if someone is gay or not.
It’s intrusive and crossing the line.

Just caught up on last night.

Am confused about Ange and her reaction to Simba and what he has been doing. Just a few tears. Where is the attitude that she gave Ope about doing something that was far less worse than what Simba has done?

Simba is a fool. Calling out Ope for wanting his cake and eating it and then does exactly the same thing. He gives off proper fuck boy vibes and just wants to get Mica into bed. His attitude when she was telling him she was not comfortable heading to the hideaway was difficult to watch. He was so rude and disrespectful.

Sam saying he liked Halle then sitting with the girls. Go bloody graft and chat to her then if you like her?

I think Tina is going to go for what she wants and seems like she won't take any messing so there could be some drama coming with her. Aidan jumping straight on her practically the minute she walked through the door. Excellent 😂

I believe we have a dumping coming so be interesting to see how that unfolds.

I didn't speculate, it was other posters. Intrusive, yes, but insulting and homophobic? That implies those posters thought it would be a bad thing if the contestants were gay – and they absolutely didn't convey that.

I am praying that Angie doesn't take Simba back and that she clicks with Chidi and whips him away from Mica. They seem to be unfairly editing her as someone dour and humourless who wants to hang on to her man, yet in her exit interview Victoria said Angie is really funny and lively and that we're not being shown any of it.

I love that Mica has seen through his act and recognised him as the fuck boy he is. He really did assume she'd just say yes and open her legs for him.

Me too but sadly I feel she will.

Chidi is way superior to Simba. He seems like a really nice genuine guy. But we know from past seasons that the girls mainly go for the fuck boy cheeky types, even though they all claim that they want a nice, genuine respectful guy, they never go for them. 🙄

I like Ange, she seems nice and Mica does too and I respect her for not heading into the hideaway with Simba and being respectful. Just glad she has now seen a side to him that seems to have turned her right off him.

PolkaDotPorridge · 19/06/2026 09:28

Just watched last night nights episode. Tommy actually makes me feel ill. He has the confidence of a far more attractive man.

Bringflowersofthefairest · 19/06/2026 09:40

@Passingthrough123 funny you should say that. I seen a clip of Robyn saying Ange isn’t being shown as her real self as she is really funny, bubbly and makes them all laugh.
It’s annoying that the producers seem to put each person into a certain role and follow that through the series regardless of how they really are.
Imagine coming out and seeing you’ve been portrayed nothing like your genuine self in there. Disgraceful.

It's been the same with other black women who've appeared on the show, like Catherine, Samira, Yewande, Tanya and Mimii – the list goes on. With the possible exception of Whitney, who instead they fitted into the angry black women trope, black women are always shown as being quiet, humourless and grateful for any attention. As a white woman watching, I've always found it disturbing how they're portrayed.

Being intrusive about someone’s sexuality is in itself insulting and homophobic.

An example is like asking a black British person: where are you REALLY from?

I can see it might be construed as insulting and homophobic if someone asked a gay person to their face, like the black person question, but this is a light-hearted forum about a silly Reality TV show. You're looking for offence where none was intended.

Agree with you regarding Simba, he was really rude when Mica turned him down. No idea how he thought it would be a good idea to go to the hideaway after just coming back from the sleepover. I think he's annoyed that he's put himself at risk of being single but I suspect Angie will take him back. Hopefully Chidi will make an impact but he seems quite chilled so far and may shy away from any bold moves!

ScoutOfTheSoftHeartsClub · 19/06/2026 10:52

Are the producers openly racist in their everyday lives? Or do they save it all for work?

Yet another year where black men are scarcely allowed to touch white women.

And black women are supposed to sit in a corner waiting for any black man who arrives. God forbid they even glance at a white man.

This show is utter, utter shit.

I was okay with what he was doing before he did that. He was keeping Ange firmly in the loop but then his attitude when Mica said no to the hideaway was just so rude. Him just going 'yeah, yeah, yeah' and practically ignoring her then when he walked off it was just so childish and immature, like a toddler being told NO. 🙄He massively let himself down with that. I get he feels he has taken a big chance and a risk for Mica but he needs to respect that she has boundaries and that is not the way she wants to 'move' in the villa.

I suspect he will apologise to all parties and will be forgiven by both.

Chidi is lovely but he is a bit quiet and a bit more shy and is giving 'Konnor' vibes from last year. All the girls will like him but no-one will give him a chance as he is too nice. Hope I am wrong though.

Empress13 · 19/06/2026 13:48

simba has definitely showed his true colours. Mica is no fool and will dump his sorry arse ! Hopefully Ange will too

murasaki · 19/06/2026 14:03

Hopefully, given she knows it was Mica who said no to the hideaway amd he wanted it, but I doubt it. He'll be grafting, as others have said. She deserves better but hasn't really attempted to talk to anyone else. Maybe Chidi would be a possibility, they've both been screwed over a bit and seem nice. The other male bombshell was unmemorable to the extent I've forgotten his name.

murasaki · 19/06/2026 14:06

Simba and Aidan are now top of my dislike list. Priya is up there.

I mostly like Jasmine, Yas, Chidi and Sam at the moment even if Sam will be out the door soon. Lola and Sean bore me silly.

Tulipsparkle · 19/06/2026 14:13

Just watched First look, showing Ellie getting v pissed off with Tommy although it's not showing why. Guessing he shows interest in the bombshells. His head will definitely turn at casa if he makes it that far, Ellie can do much better. Can see Ellie and Aiden getting back together!

Gives off a racist and homophobic air, itv love island executive producer who has had his name there from series 1.
Some people can't change

Also Kevin Lygo: Managing Director, Media and Entertainment.

Say no more.

Youllnevergetabetterbitofbutteronyourknife · 19/06/2026 14:58

I don't understand what Ellie sees in the Geordie one, even his accent doesn't make him more attractive. He looks like a rat!

ScoutOfTheSoftHeartsClub · 19/06/2026 15:18

For me there’s always a disconnect, watching this, between what some very below average men think they’re entitled to, and … the truth.

Passingthrough123 · 19/06/2026 15:32

Ugh, just watched First Look and there's Angelista leaning up against Simba round the fire pit. 😡You can do better girl!

I agree! Plus sometimes those false Turkey teeth affects their speech. Ellie can do better than this bunch.

CaptainBeefheartspal · 19/06/2026 16:03

On the whole, the women are not taking too much crap from the men and I think the way, Mica for example handles herself, is a good role model for younger women watching. Hope Angelitsa can find it in her to boot Simba out of her life - he won’t be good for her.

I love Mica.
I don't really like Ange I won't lie. She seems miserable all the time and quite controlling about the kiss thing. He's free to kiss who he wants, as is she, they're not closed off.
